Bought Descent: Journeys in the Dark with a couple of friends many years back and we still get together from time to time (since we all live apart now) and play through it. Tried also Legend of Andor not that long ago and was quite nice and exciting.

Descent is awesome, they have a Star Wars Imperial Assault version of the game too!

Fluxx is a pretty fun simple one, Cosmic Encounters has more variation and replay value than any other board game I've seen, Epic Spell Wars of the Battle Wizards: Duel at Mount Skullzfyre is just what it sounds like, Race for the Galaxy is a pretty unique one too but takes some time to get used to, and if you really think you are an extreme board gamer, then Eclipse, which is THE most complicated and longest to play board game I have ever seen. Sorry I didn't link those for ya, I'm lazy. Thanks for the train too!

Eclipse has an estimated playtime of up to 200 min. World in Flames has an estimated playtime of 6000 min, or 100 hours!

That is insane! But I can assure you from firsthand experience that when I play eclipse (with all the expansions) it takes much longer than 200 minutes. Usually takes us about 14 hours to do a full game with 7 people. But maybe it's just us :P

Games that take several sittings are not that rare. I usually avoid them, as they tend to end up not getting played, but I have at least one in my game shelf (Devil's Horsemen).
WiF is one of those games with an incredibly large scope. It tries to simulate all of WW2. There are a few other games like that out there, but WiF is the go-to example of games like this, as it's relatively famous.

And then, there's The Campaign for North Africa and its famous rule: you need more supply as Italian because you need water to boil your pasta.

That alone almost makes me want to have the game! The Italians seem to be subjected to silly things like this quite often. This counter from Afrika Korps caused quite a stir (that's the good order side). And the addon Soldiers of Negus for ASL actually had rules for letting the Ethiopian soldiers run up to and flip the Italian CV-35 Tankette (or Tank, the Italians classified it as one, everyone else classified it as a tankette)

I just played The Castles of Burgundy yesterday for first time and I loved it.
Ticket to Ride (love the Europe version), Elder Sign, Dead of Winter, Star Realms, Codenames, Eldritch Horror are couple of I can think right now that I love to play.
I really want to try Twilight Struggle but haven't got the opportunity yet

Funnily enough Ticket to Ride is my current favourite. I also enjoy Catan though.

I'm saddened to realize you were not informing us of a digital conversion of the game :'X
Always love boardgames on PC- sure, they lose a lot of what makes them great, from easy customization to tactile sensations.. but they're no-mess, no-fuss, and often allow easy online play with friends who aren't nearby.
Sadly, most conversions are lacking- even if they're not a total mess, they're often missing core house rules that many tabletop players use, or similar [even sometimes lacking multiplayer entirely!] :/

curse that title! I want Ticket to Ride so I can play it more!

Bump and meow for board games. I suppose my favorite would be Puerto Rico.

I was playing Twilight Struggle a few times, and the game is great. It's intense, deep and oddly easy to grasp. So, Steamgifts, do you play boardgames? What are your favorite ones? Here, a ticket for a bundled train.
