In short, next PS will support 8K graphics, "previously unattainable graphical fidelity and visual effects" with ray tracing, 3D audio, super fast SSDs, and backwards compatibility with existing PlayStation 4 games.

Graphics were good enough a decade ago. Metroid Prime on the Gamecube with a CRT television stills holds up.

Does that mean we shouldn't improve anymore?

As a horrible Sony fanboy, I will buy it at launch and promptly use it as a Netflix machine for 2-5 years.

To be frank, I doubt most console only gamers give two shits about the specs. So long as a it has a great line up of games and they look nicer than the previous generation, they will be happy. And I say this as someone who was strictly a console gamer until a few years ago; all I knew about my PS3 when I first bought it was that it was that it could play Blu Ray movies. Still, hope for the best and I can't wait for Knack 3 and Order 1886 2 (1887?) to release :D j/k but I can see Sony being stupid enough to do it.

Lots of promise but I was just bored out of my mind playing it. If another studio wants to take a crack at it (Naughty Dog could probably make it awesome if given the IP) I'll be all for it but I felt Ready at Dawn was out of their depth with this game since they mainly did PSP spinoff games before it.

How is it overpriced? You don't even know what's in it yet. How was the PS4 overpriced? You got quite a bit of hardware for yor money.

the only reason I have not yet bought a PS4 Pro is that I would need to buy a decent 4K TV too which is like 3 times more expensive than the PS4 itself... and the only usage of said TV would be to play that few PS4 exclusives I am interested in

gonna get richer so I don't have to care

You don't need a 4K TV to use the PS4 Pro features, as you can opt for a high performance mode that makes (some, but not all) games run at 1080p60.

And newer games often run with sub-30fps on the base console. So the Pro often delivers better performance even without a high performance mode.

cool, hopefully they will push 512k resolution soon enough so low-budget video cards can run stuff at 400fps ultra in 1080p (since it will be a peasant's resolution), and i can finally play whatever i want. ^^
