First of all, congrats to PsychoApeMan, he's gonna get his chosen game on the 22nd.
Here's a GA in case you're only here to leech win something

Now that it's done and dusted, I'd like to talk about the real reasons of this thread:

  • First to warn people that the next event will take into consideration the current amount of games played of a person to calculate the amount of games he/she will have to play in order to participate. For example, if you're close to 100% games played, you would not have to play many games, on the other hand, if your % is too low you might have to play a lot of games. Therefore, I suggest that you keep playing your wins, if you wanna participate in the next event or else you're gonna have to play A LOT of games in a month. (it should happen in december)
  • Second, I'd love to hear some suggestions about the next one or the rule above.

For the curious, here are some stats from the event:
110 participants. 63 different games picked. 1 person didn't choose anything (he really wanted that movie)
Top 8 games:

Game times picked
Divinity: Original Sin 2 8
Final Fantasy XV 7
GTA V 6
Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice 6
Vampyr 6
Nier:automata 5
Kingdom Come: Deliverance 4
Rimworld๐Ÿ† 3

Given the choice, most people would choose 50p games, as I expected - and as the top8 shows. I honestly did not expect to see GTA V in the list, especially that high. Vampyr was also a bit funny because the people that chose it, did it before release. It felt like no one wanted it after release. xD

Thanks again for doing that event. It was the motivation I needed to clear two games out of my backlog, and I had an absolute blast doing it. :)

It's not a bad idea, I just don't know how I'd include this in the algorithm. thanks for the suggestions.

+1 Awesome event! But been too busy, and every time I think about playing games lately my brain goes "No you fool! If you have time to play then you have time to do more work!"

LOL :D
Congrats to PsychoApeMan and thanks for the event! I hope there won't be harsh rules on next round since my backlog is kinda big :(
I checked US price of Hellblade (since I am one of the pickers) after seeing your message and kinda shocked. It is 50 TL on steam for me which is basically $10, but it is $30 in US market :O

That's right. Because of their monopoly Bethesda games were more expensive in Turkey than in USA.

I don't mind. I just found it interesting and as you said, it's only logical that people choose games they can't afford.

Really awesome event! Congratulations PsyhoApeman!
I'm in for the next one as well. With what are you going to check what everyone has played? Doing it manually could be quite a bit of work :
2 more games in the list and half of a started one, this time I should be faster :D
Is there a maximum you have to play if you didn't play much of your wins?

Kelnage's script as always. It helps a lot in these kind of events.
I'm strict, so I only check games with at least 1 achievement unlocked.

it was an interesting event, i had wanted to join but gave up cos i couldnt get the last asdfghjkl achievement for one of my games. imo 100% might be tough especially for certain games; perhaps u can specify based on game types or special cases ;)

The objective wasn't to get 100% achievement, it was to finish the main story / questline ๐Ÿ‘€
100% achievement is insanely tough in most games, and more designed to make ppl nuts than to make playing enjoyable IMO

perhaps i got the wrong idea from the last event then o.0 i remembered this phrase 'The game needs to be beaten/finished' and a screenshot with achivements needed to be shown so i thought it had to be 100%. hmm.

As DingDong said, it's just about finishing/beating the story, not completing the game. Most people don't care about 100%'ing a game, and neither do I.

I quoted the exact phrase used in the original post above, "finishing/beating the game" and the word game was used instead of story.. hence my misinterpretation? then this could have been better clarified I suppose

I'm just too used to BLAEO, I forget that some people here never heard about it. Finish/beat = main story. Complete = 100%.
Anyway, in case of doubt you can always ask :)

Thanks for all the congratulations messages guys! Last night I must have said to my wife about 10 times "I won! I actually won!"

I thought it was a spectacular event, best ever, without a shadow of a doubt :D

Genuinely, even before I won I thought it was great. I had a lot of fun playing through some old wins, and the offer to choose any game as a prize is insanely generous.

As for the next event, if it required completing every game I've ever won, there's no way I'd be able to participate. On the other hand, if there was some upper limit on the number of games required to be played during the event (even if, say, I needed to complete 2 or perhaps 3 times as many as in this event) I'd definitely give it a shot. EDIT: I just reread the OP, it seems you're suggesting precisely this kind of thing...

I'm eagerly awaiting the release of Two Point Hospital, too! Did you see the E3 presentation? It was really funny, but unfortunately the developers announced the game will be out on an unspecified date this autumn.

For example: Instead of asking everyone to play the same amount of games, a person who have played 80% of their wins, would have to play fewer games than another one who only played 50% of them. This second person would need to play fewer games than someone who barely started to play his games and so on. I believe, besides being fair, it would reward people that play their games without the need of an event and maybe give a reason for the rest to do it without the need of an event like this every month.

It seems like a decent game. Not superb, but good nonetheless. I just found it really funny how no one picked it after release.

Would I participate in the next one? Mhm, maybe. Not that many untouched games I could start, so I guess it'll heavily depend on the next set of rules.

Given the choice, most people would choose 50p games, as I expected - and as the top8 shows.

Not sure about the others, but I personally went for a 40p game because pre-orders/special editions were not allowed, otherwise I had several other titles I wanted more that happened to be cheaper - just not fitting because of that criteria :p Maybe consider a money limit instead of other factors as long as it's possible to buy? Just my 2 cents :3

And of course, thanks for hosting it <3

Hmm, which challenge are we talking about? I don't think I have seen it.

About the last statement. I can't talk for the rest, but in that list Nier: Automata and Vampyr are two games that are currently in my wish list and I'm quite interested in playing them, the first one being near the top of my list.
