I just finished it last night and I have been going through the game finding the last of the Maiamai. I have realized that I was missing a lot of damn items when I finished! I had never got the Pegasus Boots, never "bought" any items since I had rented them once and never died due to fairy bottles, didn't get the red tunic or the last upgrade to the master sword. As I didn't own the items, none of them were upgrading from Mother Maiamai!

All in all, it was a decent game in my opinion, just far too easy for my liking. You can certainly tell they had the younger audiences when creating the game. I ignored most of the bosses strategies and just went in swords a blazing! Even the last boss isn't hard, although introducing new mechanics during the fight is a good way to add artificial difficulty.

What are your thoughts? Did you enjoy the game and it's difficulty?

I wouldn't mind getting that sometime. For now, I only have Virtual Console LoZ games for the system.

The NES ones? Those ones are challenging without some sort of guide or previous knowledge!

Same here! I've been playing Oracle of Seasons these past few days. I found my old Game Boy Colour and I was amazed it still works. I mean... It's 17 yo after all. I was only 6 when I first got it and used to bring it with me everywhere - even the beach. I dunno how many times I dropped the damn thing. Sadly a couple of my games haven't fared as well and won't save my progress ;~;.

Those old games use batteries, and are easy enough to replace.

Ooo I didn't know that. Thank you! Though it sadly won't bring back my old saves 3:. Better than nothing!

For my favorite games/series I always buy 2 copies. I also have them on my 3DS (virtual console).

I still have unopened copies of quite a few SNES gems, such as Secret of Mana, Earthbound, and Chrono Trigger.

I enjoyed the game. I beat it and then went back through and bought all of the items and completed the tower dungeon several times for the extra stuff. It was fun, and even though it was easy I enjoyed it.

It's a good game, but the non-linearity hurts it a fair bit. The lack of difficulty is a result of making sure the player can go to the second set of dungeons in any order- you can't have a difficulty curve during that whole section. And this means that if they make the final level appropriately hard, it would have felt like there was a HUGE difficulty spike. It wasn't so much that they had "younger audiences in mind" with this one, as it was that so many trolls complained about the linearity of recent Zelda games that Nintendo caved in and made a game just to shut them up.

Still not nearly as bad as Twilight Princess in the "lacking difficulty" part though... Honestly, I took three hits during my ENTIRE FIRST RUN of Twilight Princess. That game was easily the worst in the series, barring the CD-i abominations.

I liked Twilight Princess. But I hate the N64 game and Link to the Past. :D

I hadn't never thought about that, but it sure does make sense!

I haven't played anything from the Wii onward other than handhelds, but only three hits throughout the entire game does sound rather pathetic.

I beat it last Christmas and I enjoyed it a lot. I still haven't got all the maimais and I think I didn't get the red tunic.

I enjoyed the game but I found it too easy and a bit short. Overall it's a great title. My favourite remains A link to the past though! (GBA version)

I enjoyed it, alot more on hero mode though(adds some difficulty)
100% it twice
btw the reward for all the squid things is powerful(its a sword spin upgrade, makes it take like half the screen)

I'll likely replay the game on hero mode and possibly do a 3 heart run while I'm at it. I'll certainly be getting the Maiamais as soon as possible to get that upgrade for that run!
