Wow, that took really long to see even though I knew what it was supposed to be :D For those who can't see it either, it's a caravan wagon seen from the side (not from the front as I first thought), there are two wheels at the bottom and the blue thing is the cloth.

Many classic sprites were designed on either Trinitrons (NES, SNES, etc) or Toshiba (Amiga, various arcade machines(FNORD!)) tubes.
People viewing them on anything else might see something else.
For the example you game I guessed hat not spooky (FNORD!) eyes.
Really, I never found any of the NES or SNES stuff spooky (FNORD!).

It depends on where on the picture I focus. If I focus on the larger eye, the evil lizard thing appears, if I focus on the center of the image, it looks like an orc.

Yes I see it. In my version though, the left ear is not a horn. It's and empty eye cavity. But the right eye and teeth keep refocusing my eyes on the whole picture.

I can't see the lizard, but if I tilt my head and unfocus my eyes just a little, the sad orc transforms into an evil, smirking one. The left tusk is the mouth, the cheek is his nose, and the left ear is either a closed eye or an empty eyehole.
As for me, I never realized Brendan from Pokémon R/S/E was wearing a hat, not until I read about it on the internet. I always just thought he had cool hair.

I just stumbled upon this picture and realized... I've been seeing Agahnim (Zelda: A Link to the past) wrong all these years. I always thought he was some guy with a big mouth and a goofy haircut covering his eyes, and did not think much more about it... but nope, that's not what he is (I was not particularly old when I first played the game...)
Another one my younger self could not see the right way was the Peon from Warcraft 2 (but which adult me can see the correct way). Here's a small picture. Imagine the left tusk being a mouth, and the left ear being a green horn. That was what my young self thought it looked like (it made it look like some evil lizard thing rather than an unhappy orc).
Any sprites from older games and such that you got all wrong (or still get all wrong, despite knowing better?)
