Heard Co-op is broken still, heard its like a slower based Metal Slug with more customization basically.

Well, i only played co-op with my friends, and from my experience i found it very enjoyable for a while. It does get a little repetitive, but that was in the early access. (haven't played much since early access release) But if you like 2d shooter games, its decently made with a lot of customization.

Is Mercenary Kings worth it? Considering getting it, but the reviews I've found are based off of the early access version and I can't find the info I'm looking for on the game.
From a single-player perspective, is it enjoyable for hours on end and full of fun content? Or does it quickly become repetitive? Is there enough variety between missions to keep it from feeling like a chore?
From a co-op perspective, would you find it more enjoyable than Metal Slug 3? (I am aware that they play differently, despite their graphical similarities.)
