I see a lot of guesses coming in. I think some folks are falling for the enemy's decoys. The enemy wants you to waste your time and ammo, and is leading you astray. Stay on mission, use your mission statement to your advantage. Strike with precision.

It's been brought to my attention that I had one letter off in its location. It is now fixed. Sorry if that's been holding anyone back. (I would think the rest of the answer would make that one letter clear, though.)

I hate to see participants hopelessly stuck, I've certainly been there too. On the other hand, I had thought the ITH hint that gives the quantity of coordinates needed would help clue people in to where to get them from. Have you folks revisited after the two hour delay for the hints?
Also, have you figured out the coordinate system? (It's not what you would use in algebra.) That may help here, too.

As was mentioned, a reverse image search from the hint picture should be helpful in identifying the reference material. In fact, the first page of results (for me, at least) gives a sample coordinate in one of the result titles, so it should make the coordinate system clear as well.

I mean the picture that is in the ITH hint. That shouldn't result in circles. I assume you've been using the puzzle image.

The picture in the ITH hint is a Simpsons screenshot.

Oh boy, I think my brain really need the sleep now. I still don't have the hint for some reason but I should have seen that's what you were referring to. Sorry. I'll leave the tab open and go get my brain some rest. Obviously it needs it. thanks

I've seen it before in other ITH but for some reason, this one never appeared. Must be something wrong with my browser. My gaming laptop is getting some tuning done so I'm stuck with an old XP laptop I had in my closet for now lol
Better than nothing but not up to this century for some things;
Thanks a lot for the help

Are we supplying every single coordinate of each character? Or just the beginning and end?
I'm pretty sure that I understand the reference and the coordinate system used, and I've tried it backwards and forwards, cheerfully thinking that I would see "correct" show up...but no dice so far.

You are supplied something from which you derive coordinates, then turn those into letters.

Oh, I was thinking that it was a reference to a particular game I'll try some all-letter combos and see if I can work it out that way. :)

That part's correct. (Maybe remove the rest of that sentence, though?) But you have something that can be interpreted as coordinates, and you use the grid to lookup the letters that exist at those coordinates. (It sounds like you're trying to locate the name of the game in the grid and put the coordinates into the answer box. That's not correct.) Once you have figured out where the coordinates come from (knowing the system helps), looking up those letters in the grid should give something that's obviously the correct answer.

You're right...I was doing it backwards. I just figured it out. Thanks for the help.
I was about to mention that one letter was wrong, but then I cruised through the thread and saw that someone else already pointed this out. But you're right...it's easy to figure out the letter if you know the game. :)

I fixed the first letter already. Which number (first, second, etc.) did you have a problem with? (Maybe post on the GA page.) Or maybe there was a caching problem?

Could be. It was the first letter of the word for me.

thanks for sharing, knew the system but not the coordinates =( good pluzze

While my previous puzzles have been...hit-or-miss, I thought I'd create another one for you to attack. Yes, it's another Easter weekend hunt puzzle, but for bigger stakes than mere eggs. The enemy has placed some decoys on the battlefield, but if you coordinate your attacks, you should do just fine. Remember to focus on your mission, to the letter.
Ends April 6. You are playing for a few February Humble Monthly leftovers:
Standard SGTools rules apply.
Solution: picture attached
I tried to hint at the game Battleship: hit-or-miss, coordinate(s), Simpsons scrabbleship reference (in the hint).
The coordinate system for Battleship is [A-J][1-10]. The statement above the puzzle gives you coordinates if you use the starting letters and lengths of the words. Those coordinates point to letters spelling out the answer, DESTROYER.
