So my country is too devastated by the undead curse that the developers decided it will be worthless to try to sell the game in my region. And my question is :
Has anyone managed to activate and play Dark Souls in a locked region? I really want the game on steam and i'm not sure if i can activate it with a gift or a key traded by someone.

You can still buy a non-russian(unless u r in CIS) version from a trader and play it.

I am from Argentina and the game is locked beause of the usless soon to be dead GFWL. I traded a steam copy with another user and activated it in my account. I was able to play the game online without any issue. I am pretty sure keys from other stores work as the restriction is to sell it not to activate it, i don`t really understand the logic behind this.,

No you might have got it other way. I got the game through steam trade, and it works just fine.

Yes. It's not available in my region according to the steam store. I bought a gift copy through trade, and I'm playing it. Just make sure you don't buy a Russian copy.

If you can't buy it in your country, just download a cracked version, nobody can blame you.

To be honest you're better off getting it for a console. The game is great but the port was terrible. The developers couldn't make a decent port which is why I'll be holding off my purchase of Dark Souls 2 until I see how the PC port is. Either way GFWL will be shut down soon and the game will be dead unless it gets patched out and if it hasn't been patched out by now most likely it won't be patched out, so if you get your hands on it play it fast otherwise you won't be able to.

There's a lot of fanmade packs that make the game 100% better than the console version.
And the devs already said that theyre thinking about PC gamers in DaS2, and they warned about the port of the first one, the port was rushed and they only did because of lots of petitions and shit.

With dsfix the game is better than console, not to mention mods. It's generally cheaper on PC. GFWL has been able to be patched/"cracked" out of this game very simply since the day it was released, so it will always be able work.
