Hello and welcome to the madness!
The challenge is simple: Play and beat any 6 games, starting 6/May/2025, that have been featured in any given Humble Monthly/Choice bundle in one months.

The prize: 2x Blue Prince
Note: This means I'm giving away two copies of the game and will have 2 winners.

Game length does not matter and I'm not looking for 100% achievement runs. So long as you play and beat 6 games, I'm happy. You can go easy mode and play a bunch of 1h games or go crazy and play 6 +30h games. So long as they were in a monthly at a given point, it is all good.

Just post a comment with either screenshots/ achievements showing that you fulfilled the criteria and I'll add you on Steam and give you the link. Feel free to share your thoughts on the games you've played, but it is not required.

FAQ:

Why you doing this?

I hate money. That and I realized I've been subbed to the monthly for over nine years (yes it has been that long, I checked) and it occurred to me that I've barely touched the games I've gotten from it, let alone played them. Figured the same would be true for a few others, so I figured this is a good way to change that. A sensible person would probably unsub in this situation, but please refer to the beginning as to why that will not happen.

I've played the first X minutes of a game, can I pick it for the event?

No. You cannot have any play time or achievements prior to the start of the event. The only exception is idle time from farming Steam cards.

Can I play a MP only game?

No. It needs to have an "end" in order for me to count it as beaten, so it needs to have a campaign/story mode.

If a game was sold as a non-Steam copy in a bundle (origin/uplay/drm-free/etc), can I pick it as a choice if I own a Steam copy?

No. The reason being that those who own a Steam copy would have an extra option that would not be available to everyone who bought the same bundle. If the game was originally sold as a non-Steam copy, but Humble later provided steam keys to everyone who bought the bundle, then the game would be allowed.

Why six games?

The first few monthlies had 6/7 games in them so I went with that.

How long are you going to do this?

Until my credit card statements gives me nightmares.

This event "ends" on June 3rd when the next next HB Choice releases, though the giveaway itself will end the day after. If you manage to finish game number six in between that time, feel free to post, but know that I cannot guarantee that I'll be able to give you the link in time.

⭐Shantae and the Pirate's Curse / Started on May 8th / Finished✔ on May 11th Guardian Genie (Final boss achievement).	Before playing: Shantae, Oddworld and Steamworld - small but long-running and noticeable franchises on Steam. You have one of these games in your library and you don't remember how you got it. After Playing: As a licensed expert in metroidvanias I declare: "Shantae and the Pirate's Curse" is a good and even funny metroidvania!
⭐Mushroom 11 / Started on May 13th / Finished✔ on May 15th Great Return (The Journey is Complete) .	Before playing: Advertised as "anti-platformer" - probably sounds more ambitious than it actually is. After playing: Not really convinced about "anti-platformer" but I liked it very much, liked to the point of not being shy to recommend it to anyone who is not naturally against puzzle-platformers (puzzle-anti-platformers).
Fort Solis / Started on May 13th / Finished✔ on May 17th Darkest Before the Dawn (Complete Fort Solis).	Before playing: Peeps in steam reviews are recommending playing "The Invincible" instead. Now I'm kind of curious! Cause I found "The Invincible" properly lackluster. After playing: A real head-scratcher! It's on a higher budget, though it's mostly default UE5 graphics, but it's still an effort to assemble and polish it all. They even have Troy Baker! And all that to ultimately say nothing. The "author" had a feeling that he was chasing but never really coherently expressed it.
Chroma Squad / Started on May 11th / Finished✔ on May 23d Brave Hero (Complete the game on Challenging Difficulty).	Before playing: Chroma Squad reminds me of one of my favorite games, Into the Breach. Though I don't expect Chroma Squad to be any challenge to the masterpiece. Playing: It sure is a kickstarter baby! From the start many mechanics (I bet, promised and hyped to backers, so no easy way to discard them), which don't really synergize with each other and most of them get "solved" in the first half of the game. So it gets pretty same-y later in this rather long game, but until the final boss, where "unbalancedly" they throw at you all old bosses at once (the best mission). Long story short, I'll probably play "Into the Breach" again (never uninstalled).
🤬Steel Rats / Started on May 16th / Finished✔ on May 28th Hero (Finish the game).	Before playing: A lot of people seems to chose it for this challenge. Is it because it's short? Or is it because it's that good? Playing: At first I was like: "hmmm, controls in this game is something you need to get used to!" But later in the last levels when they cranked up the difficulty, the mix of bad controls, level-restarting bugs and overall questionable decision to be 3d platformer with 2d camera annoyed me to the point of rage quitting a couple of times. This almost never happens to me and I don't like when it does!
⭐Superliminal / Started on May 17th / Finished✔ on May 18th Wake up (Beat the game) .	Before playing: I played it before (Game Pass? Epic store?), it was chill and easy with a little bit of mystery plot. After playing: Replaying with no ego pressure to finish puzzles, I took my time and discovered so much secrets! I even found secret dog ending! One of the best game in the genre!

Kona August 2018	Started: May 10th / Finished: May 17th	A Mari Usque Ad Mare	Enjoyable survival game. Nice graphics and decent story. Sometimes a bit confusing where to go to next though and the area loading was sometimes a bit annoying. Also I did get soft locked near the end for a while, because I had missed something somewhere, which was a bit annoying. But all in all still liked the game and had fun with it.
Mushroom 11 January 2016	Started: May 18th / Finished: May 22nd	Great Return	I usually enjoy puzzle/platformer games, so this seems to be right up my alley. Simple concept, but well executed and fun to play. Gameplay feels very intuitive. Rocket level was the bane of my existence though. Overall liked the game, but I struggled a bit with the last two levels.
Twin Mirror January 2024	Started: May 21st / Finished: Not Yet	To be added end achievement	Been wanting to play a story game that I did not see spoilers about yet, so going to give this one a try. Seems promising so far, liking the graphics and the story seems pretty decent. So far choices do not seem to have much of an impact though.
SUPERHOT June 2017	Started: May 24th / Finished: May 24th	One of Us	Interesting concept and enjoyable game to play! Time thing is interesting and well done. Find it nice that you can take a sec to asses the situation whenever you want. Became a lot darker with an short but interesting storyline. had a lot of fun with the game ^0^/
Still There December 2020	Started: May 25th / Finished: May 25th	Still There	Bit confusing sometimes, but interesting game. Ending had me crying ;-;, my poor evil darkside heart >.< Was a nice game
SOMA September 2016	Started: May 29th / Finished: Not Yet	The End	Enjoyable game so far. Tense vibes all around, lovely graphics and interesting story. Been on my list for a while, glad I am getting around to finally playing it. Having fun with it, but bad with horror, playing it slowly and won't finish the game in time for the challenge. Will try to finish it outside of the challenge.

Was glad there was a fast forward on the voice lines - the acting was good but I'm impatient lol. Def will check out the second one.

Light puzzling but not too difficult, I never got stuck anywhere (and I usually do lol).

Anything where choices matter means the storyline you choose only gets part of the attention. Definitely felt rushed at times and the music behind the voices felt unfinished. Vocal performances were super uneven - some were awesome and others really needed polish. Will certainly go back to see the other choices.
