It may be in the first post but I couldn't find it. Isn't it quite a change that level 1 contributor (lets call him X) can make level 10 giveaway ? As I resemble, in SG1, X wouldn't be able to do that, he could give away only double his contribution level, am I wrong?

No info about that in official posts (since they are not change-logs). Yes it changed comparing to the old site. In V2 this is not limited, that's all. Everyone can set any Level to their GA-s. It is not a problem or a bug, there is nothing wrong about it.

Ok, I was just wondering if this was implemented or temporal bug.

Yeah... the bundle rule is ridiculous. Can we stop pretending that more than 5% of non-bundle games are being bought at full price? Because that's kind of obviously not happening.
Comment has been collapsed.
No we can't.
From most of non bundle games, you have to pay $3.75, $5 or more when discounted. For bundle games, you give $1 for 2-4 games or like $4 for 5-7 games. So you're technically paying $0.5 per bundle game at most, as opposed to several bucks minimum for non bundle ones.

Non-bundle games are bought on sale at down to 10%-15% of their base price (sometimes down to 5%).
Bundled games are usually bought at 1%-5% of their base price (depending on bundle expense and size, and taking into account that you get several games).
15% of the non-bundle interval (10%-15%) equals a number somewhere in the lower interval (1%-5%).
Therefore the fact that bundles count for 15% is reasonable and I'm sure they did similar math to end up with this number.

I understood you were asking about the specifics of how the current level system translated to the old CV system(the current one is simply flat out value) as that is where doubling is relevant. If you want to know your amount or how each game contributes without calculating yourself this http://www.sgcv.tk/ is a tool to do that.

If you care about your CV level, you should If you're just doing this to be generous, then it doesn't matter.

It doesn't matter where you bought them. If they're on the bundle list, they count as bundled titles.

I've heard of 'slots' coming up in several chats I've had with people.
I was told if you delete a giveaway, you lose a slot.
How/where do we see how many slots we have? (and their defaults)
If someone deletes more giveaways then they have slots, can they no longer create giveaways?!

Ty SleepyCat.
So there is no theretical max limit? (I take it it takes more and more to grant a slot, like a sliding scale)
How about minimal limit, cause again, I was told you lose slots if you delete a giveaway. (I'm unsure if it is permanent or what not)
Comment has been collapsed.
Every 3 successfully completed giveaways grant you 1 extra giveaway slot. Every "not received" or deleted giveaway removes 1 giveaway slot. I am not aware of any max limit, the site admin might provide some more information on this matter.
Comment has been collapsed.
Yes it's permanent.
If you cancel or delete a giveaway you lose a slot.
If you totally messed up and went down to 0 slots, you have to ask SteamGifts support to help you. Unfortunately it could take a year for them to respond to your ticket.
You can see how many slots you have on the top of the "Create new giveaway" page.
Example:
You're able to create up to 81 additional gifts based on your giveaway feedback.
You get an extra slot for every 3 giveaways you end successfully.

On a side note.
I really dislike this system with that there are limited slots available.
Once you have shown you are a good user (say after 5 successful giveaways) there shouldn't be a limitation on how many gifts you can give out. I continuously hit this limit when I had just joined a giveaway group and was unable to give out games as quickly as I would like.
I can understand why this system is there for new members. And also for long standing members it's not a problem.
However for the group in the middle it's a real burden that serves little benefit.

So at $10 you're level 1, then at $20 you're level 2 and so on?

What is the exact criteria for a game in steamstore, to be added to the bundle list?
I've been told it was 95% or more off, 96% (some time last year), and as low as 85%.
I ask this because I seen plenty of 90% off games not on the list, yet BitPack is, and it only ever was 90% off.
I would like a clear, precise answer please. (also a reason why BitPack is on bundle list?).

I sure wish the criteria was posted somewhere, I'm tired of wasting money on giveaways, only to get it added to bundlelist days after my giveaways end.
I checked bundlelist before I do giveaways for this very reason.
And technically, if someone were to give someone 2 different cd-keys, 1 for each game in the pack, to the winner, they technically still don't own the pack, correct? different subid and whatnot? (sure they'll have both games and their respected id's, but not the packs id)

Lets say I have a game from a bundle and I wanna put it up in the giveaway. But I do that after lets say 2 weeks from the bundle date release. Will the 15% rule still apply to it? Can I wait a certain duration to do a giveaway where my bundle items xp will increase? If not then I think this will hurt everyone in the long run.
Lets say I just started steam. I don't know about previous bundles or anything and somehow I stumble on this page and make a giveaway of a game that was in a bundle a while back. I don't get full xp and that will hurt me hard seeing as I payed full price for the game

When I first started here I bought a few games on sale that were previously bundled. However I giveaway for the sake of maybe giving someone a game they've wanted for a long time and maybe couldn't afford. So this doesn't affect me at all. It probably does to others.

Guys where is a list of bundle games on the site?
Comment has been collapsed.
Sorry for the retarded question ... but if i giveaway 5 copies of a game i get the 100% ( well 15% cause its bundle games ) ... and From the 6th one onwards there is the 10% Decrease correct ?
Or the 5th 1 gets affected aswell ?
Also does it matter if i put 4 copies in 1 giveaway , or 4 different giveaways for 1 copy each .
Or it gives the same CV regardless .

Same story.
When SGv2 was introduced I have level as high as 4.84. Since then I've made something about 30 giveaways.
What about my level now? Funny it is still 4.84. It went up and down. One day it raising over 5 but the other day it dropped down to 4.9 and some days later to 4.7.

not sure what is happening, made 2 giveaways recently for Polaris, CV level went up to 4.97 and one winner had not yet marked it as received. Today CV level went down to 4.89 and even after the last winner marked it as received, it's still at 4.89. Anyone have any explanation?

A quick question, When SG refreshes CV for bundled games ? I mean especially for older games and older giveaways, does CV change when a game is marked as bundled ? Or is it a week later?
I can now see a user who has given away bundled games -and of course past the bundle day- , now the game is marked as bundled but his CV is untouched. The game is "Taxi" by the way, the username will remain private for the moment. You see, It's rather strange and i feel a bit cheated when my "Hackers" DLCs were marked as bundled and my CV dropped almost a level, instantly.
Isn't it automatic?

Thank you for your answer,
In fact the game is already marked as bundled almost instantly after i mentioned it to "the bundler" (thanks!) and the giveaways in question is couple of months later (Feb '15) than the bundle day (Dec '14). So the retroactive bundle rule applies here.
Anyway, happy news here, something changed from when i started to write this: i checked again this random guy's CV which is fixed and also checked in sgcv.tk and now it's marked as bundled. Maybe it just needed a re-refresh to work :p
Ty ;)

Hey everyone, I'll try to demystify the contributor levels you see on the site.
To get started, the levels range from 0 - 10, with level 0 being the default after registration, and level 10 being the highest level attainable. Users increase through these levels by creating giveaways that are marked received. If you mouseover your level in the navigation bar, or the level on profiles, you'll see a tooltip with the level rounded to 2 decimal places, giving you a better idea of small increments in level, and when you're about to level up.
Levels increase almost exponentially, meaning each level requires double the contributions of the previous level. For example, level 4 would require double the contributions of level 3, and level 3 would require double the contributions of level 2.
How much a giveaway increases your level is based on the gifts price, so a $20 game would add twice as much value to your level as a $10 game. There are three other factors that may influence the value of a gift...
After you give away a game 5 times (whether in the same giveaway, or in multiple giveaways), it will begin decreasing in value. The value is decreased by 10% for each additional copy. This means if you decide to give away 8 copies of a $10 game, it would add $74.39 (10 + 10 + 10 + 10 + 10 + 9 + 8.10 + 7.29) in value towards your level. This has little effect on the majority of users, but prevents individuals from receiving a high level from gifting a large number of promotional gifts, games obtained through pricing errors, or keys from contacting game developers.
If a giveaway is invite only, or for a whitelist or Steam group, it will only add value towards your level if it receives 5 or more entries. We made this change to combat small groups of friends from attempting to cheat the contributor system, and to encourage users to expand the reach of their giveaways. The new whitelist feature offers an easy way to target a larger audience, and you can combine it with small Steam groups to receive a greater number of giveaway entries if needed.
Giveaways for bundle games created after the bundle date will always receive 15% of their value. For example, if you gift 2 copies of a $20 bundle game, you would receive $6 (3 + 3) in value towards your level. In the previous site, you could potentially receive no value for bundle games, but this way users will always receive some value for contributing to the site. Keep in mind that changes to the list of bundle games will apply retroactively, so if a bundle begins today, attempting to gift the game before it's added to the list will offer no advantage.
We hope you like the new contributor system. It's similar to the previous one in a number of ways, but addresses a few holes and possible exploits, allows all bundle games to receive some value (even if small), and it's a little easier to use and understand when creating and viewing giveaways. We'll be testing it out for now, seeing the feedback from the community, and deciding whether any adjustments or tweaks need to be developed.
