Is it any fun? Got a download code from Gamestop and was wondering what I should do with it.

Well, Total Wars are those kind of games that You will either love or hate and get bored within 45 minutes.

Those are strategy games but they are much slow paced games than a typical RTS for example. There is more about economy and "boring" stuff in it then fight itself.
If You like constant action in your games than it's probably not for You. If You like to think, plan and foght from time to time You might get into it pretty well.

It depends if you like strategy games? If not then you should figure out something else to do with it than use it.

I do like RTS games. The fact that I actually a good number of them is my problem.

Download a "Demonstration" copy and see if it's something you feel you can play. If not then at least you will have an idea as to what to do with your retail key.

Well its kinda like an RTS except only the Battles are RTS style. I would just look up gameplay. I have the same problem you do with having a bunch of rts games :b

Great game, it can be tricky to catch up, depending on what faction you start with, but the game is very rewarding, and makes every turn count. Combat wise is simply amazing, the scale of it, and the intuitive controls that allow you to meta and micro rather fast makes doing even unbalanced combat exciting, as you CAN win if you play smart.

I obviously have. Also, note the last word of the sentence. Everyone has their own opinion.

Install it? Trade it? Gift it? Fill it with pesto and chopped black olives, coat with breadcrumbs and call it an hors d'œuvre?

If you like Total War type games, don't think twice - just install and enjoy.
