Just send ticket. I was suspended for posting spam when I replied to my own post. Though it was in superfabs thread (where he demanded change/clarification of rules from CG and mods tried to silence him no matter what). And this here is pro-patreon discussion :)

I agree... someone needs to fill up the forum now that they banned certain topics that were annoyingly taking over.
I'd rather a few goofy or troll type posts, than ones filled with angst, death, and destruction.
I play games and enjoy media to escape the horror of the world for a bit, not be reminded of it constantly.

In a perfect world people would understand others see and understand things in a different way and some people even have mental roadblocks referred to as disorders such as myself. And people would be able to discuss things and share opinions without fear of being ostracized but this is not a perfect world. I am on 27 blacklists now and it is a bit disheartening but I certainly don't think much on it. After all this is just another from of opinion and those 27 people are welcome to have it. Anyway I'm detracting from the hate/love for icaio.

There are days where there are so few posts on SG, that they all fit on one screen. So unless Iciao starts being obscene and overly offensive, i see no reason to be annoyed.

Yeah I fully understand what you posted there. I try to not be offensive and when things look to be going that way I just walk away and do something else. As for icaio....well there was that one post about Yotto or well a certain part of Yotto but I found it to be humorous. heh

Some people have a harsh sense of humor, and some cant take a joke. Between the 2, feelings will be hurt. My older brother is overtly harsh like that, to the point i really dont like him, as it gets to the point of abuse. Especially when alcohol is involved.
It seems obvious Iciao ends his days with a few drinks and has fun playing around on SG afterwards. So far it's been rather tame.

Giveaways have little to nothing to do with it. I dont feel obliged to put up with someone just because they offer me the chance to win something. Or do as he has, and go out of his way to just give me a game on my wishlist. But it does show the giving/loving side of his goofy nature.

To me spam is someone repeatedly advertising, or trolling comments.
He does make more posts than most, but as i said, it's not like it's hard to scroll past the few posts of his that are active. As they're not offensive or distracting. Just kinda inane and goofy.

While I don't see any value in SG Patreon since tmk, that money doesn't get distributed to the support staff as it really should be, I also don't really see why people object to the thread. Nobody is requiring participation. If a person doesn't like the topic, they can leave the thread with nothing lost. ;)

Checking the forum there is an eye icon like for hiding games, but is for "mark as read" which i have no interest in using.
Wish it was just a hide icon the same as giveaways.
Or maybe there could be a separate BL for the forum? As obviously certain folk cant just be peacable.

A simple method would be to extend g/a blacklists to the forum. Steam has an interesting method where, even if you've blocked someone, you can still choose to view their comments. Which is best since, depending on the conversation, you might want to see their comment. But they can't comment on your profile, reviews, etc...not a bad system.
It's not a system I would personally partake of here, but I do think there are plenty of examples of it being implemented in a variety of ways on social media and forums. Any one of them could likely be a good fit for SG.

Yeah, it would make sense for BL to extend to the forum, and then be able to tic a box to allow comments/posts or not.
It is quite rare anyone is overtly rude here, and i assume they regularly get banned before i run across their drama.
I mainly BL people who literally give away nothing but really bad shovelware, just to free up my giveaway page, and chase less games to add to my ignore list.
I've yet to have any reason to want to BL someone for their comments.

Can't you hide threads already? I think it was added a few months ago, after some arguments about the current war in the middle east. When you open a thread there's an eye button on the top right, it hides the thread from discussions permanently. Could be an ESGST thing though.

I'm thinking more along the lines of thank you Steam gift cards or what have you. I assume being a member of the support staff and defacto door to cg's office is a pretty thankless job. Something like Steam gift cards every few months would be a nice gesture from cg to his volunteer stsff. Of course, it's possible that already happens and we just don't know about it.
