Having 2 versions of the game at the same time?

so i don't know where to look about this, but my question goes to RoN (or similary another other game)
there are 2 versions of RoN, v1.10 (beta) where the LAN works just fine
in newer versions , it doesn't work, so the thing is when opt'ing to a beta you override the files.
is there a way (other than saving the game somewhere else and replacing everytime) to have both versions installed?

Download beta, change the folder name then use "add non steam game" and point to the beta, then download the normal version, you will have both then.
