I understand your feelings towards 3 and NV. When you're used to 1 and 2 than 3 and NV seem lacking in several departments. It's the combination of the combat, the animations, the greyscales used throughout the game and the lack of a true gritty reality that bothered me in F3 and NV. Also emotionwise it didn't do much for me. I didn't feel much for the wasteland and the people in it compared to 1 and 2.
The latest video on steam for F4 looks promissing, but I'm always very cautious when it comes to fallout games by the hand of bethesda. On the upside, and this is a fact, there are colors in F4.

No you're not. I want to be excited but my PC and wallet is not excited at all :(

Bethesda can't into true RPGs since Morrowind, only creates sandboxes for modders. And this is updated Fallout 3, which is not true Fallout. That's why I'm not excited at all, though I adore first two games.
Worth to pick up complete edition on big sale.

I have 3 and NV in my Steam library, but they're way down on the things I want to play; too many other things I am far more interested in playing. Everyone was hyped about it and I was like "meh". I do enjoy watching 3 and NV played. I have found that some games, I am more content to watch being played than actually playing them. I am not sure what it is exactly about them. I'm not a huge post-apoc genre fan. Not to say I do not like a few things here and there in that genre. I enjoyed the new Mad Max movie and bought the game as a surprise gift to a streamer friend who really wanted it, and enjoyed watching them play enough that I actually threw it onto my PSN wishlist. And as I said, I have enjoyed watching streams and videos of FO3 and NV. I honestly am not sure what it is that has me not interested in actively playing the games or interested in FO4.
Also, as one person mentioned, they're the sort that as something gets more hyped and in their face, the more they're turned off by it, and this is also the case for me. I remember when DA:I was coming out last year. It got to the point that I fucking hated it. So when my boyfriend got his special edition stuff and was excitedly opening it while we were in a Skype call, as much as I was happy that he was happy, I personally had zero interest in all the stuff he was trying to show me because I'd gotten so turned off by it from all the hype. A friend who youtubes and streams when he can (active duty military, so streaming is hit or miss), started it up on his PS4 a while back, and we sat, chatting and I watching him derp about. It had been long enough from the release that my distaste for the game was gone, so that combined with it being a friend I was watching instead of a random person, helped me enjoy the evening. There have been other games like that, not many, that have been so overhyped that it is like "STFU, we get it, you are excited for the bloody game, move on already".
I don't get overhyped by games. I've so many big games that had varying degrees of hype around them come out and then the shit storm of all the first day release quirks and mishappens or watched everyone loose interest in the game within a week or two, or the game has a ton of bugs and issues (new Batman, AS:Unity, Dying Light, etc...), or just other things like that. I look forward to games that peak my interest. I watch them and see how they progress and develop. Like No Man Sky, I am an intrigued by, more for the exploration factor and discovering planets and getting to adventure on them, but I'm not hyped. I do not want to get hyped over a game, only to have it come out and be disappointed. So I am cautious and wary.

Didn't enjoy Fallout as well as Skyrim. Kinda missing the point, why is loved by that many people?

Morrowind is a thing. Oblivion is playble. Others, yeah, they differ a lot from what they were before

Honestly I was excited about Fallout 4 for quite some time, until minimum requirements were published and I realized that even my best pc won't be able to handle it.

Fallout is practically the Elder Scrolls just in a futuristic way, replacing swords and magic with guns. If you prefer Elder Scrolls, perhaps you're that type of person who really likes old age fantasy more than future fantasy. I enjoyed both Fallout and Skyrim.

Neah, I'm not all that exited either. First of all, I am STILL playing Fallout 3 and I got really bored of it. I wanna play EVERYTHING in the game like the perfectionist I am and once I reached level 30 and also having the OP alien weapons, there is NO challenge whatsoever. Doesn't help that the other 3 DLC campaigns are all fucking bullshit. And even when I do finish it, there's still New Vegas to play... And even so, I make it rule to never buy a game at full price because...60 EURO???? FUCK THAT!!!. So I'll have to wait at least 2 years until I find it at a reasonable price. So, why would I be exited?

I couldn't care less about Fallout 4 for the time being. I haven't played any of the previous releases although I won NV here and it's at the top of my backlog. I also don't like how there's already a season pass...
Thanks for the giveaways!

do you enjoy the elder scrolls games?
I didnt know anything about fallout before 3, but i found it easy to get into since the gameplay was relatively familiar.

I was a little bit excited about it, then I saw the videos (playthroughs, etc) and now I am not anymore, at all. I have decided that I will not buy it if it is not really cheap like 5 or 8 euros at most. For all the hype and all the things they said I expected much more.

I've only played the first 2 entries in the series, although I do own the rest...many times over (digital and physical copies). I just can't bring myself to play 3 or New Vegas more than an hour or so.
Maybe it's the setting? -shrug- I dunno. I could never pin it down to an exact reason.
Maybe I'm more excited about other games coming out this year or early next year? Xenoblade Chronicles X is coming next month.
Maybe I'm in a gaming slump, where nothing appeals to me until I get out of it?
WHAT'S WRONG WITH ME, GUYS?!
