I have a question...

I know you have to wait 7 before reporting someone for not activating a gift on their account, but I was wondering if I still have to wait that long when the game has not been activated AND is no longer in their inventory. Since it's not in their inventory, they're hardly likely to activate it now are they? Thanks in advance for any advice :)

If it hasn't been 7 days and the game insnt in their inv, im pretty sure you can write to support, but talk to them first, their inv may be private

I can see all the tf2/spiral knights stuff in his inventory, just not the game. Guy also seemed a little rude when I gave him the game, felt like I was putting him out by giving him a gift! Added him on steam and he removed me straight after I gave him the game through steamtrade, so I'm unsure if I want to add him again just to ask him where the game went.

it is possible to hide your steam gift inventory but not your tf2/spiral knights inventory. I'd still wait the full 7 days, then contact support.

Ah ok, I didn't know you could do that. Will probably wait the full 7 days to report it then, just to be safe. I don't want to waste anyones time with a potentially false report. Thanks for answering my question guys :D

The waiting period of 7 days applies either when the gifter hasn't gifted the game to the winner yet or when the winner hasn't been available to receive the game from the gifter.

In your case, if I understood correctly, the asshole accepted your gift and did not activate the game. Furthermore, if the game was a tradeable item, the fact that it isn't in his inventory is a clear fact that he traded it in for something so...

...at this point you can contact support and ask for a huge banhammer to fall on his miserable little head.

EDIT: Oh wait... his inventory isn't viewable? Yeah, then I guess you should wait. :\
