The audio puzzle was obscur at first, and after 33 or so attempts, I was all but ready to expedition to something else, but then I've reached clairity and managed to solve it. Thanks!

I have seen a few similar puzzles but this is the first time I am attempting to solve it, do I need to be somewhat aware of steamgits as a community (popular posts, popular users) to be able to solve them? Because if that was the case then I am probably doomed.

You don't need to know anything about SG specifically. But I would recommend making yourself somewhat familiar with the most common puzzling strategies described in this guide, you may find something useful there

But it's right there, Hidden in not so plain sight.

I try this puzzle every day, and then close my browser with a big question mark over my head.
I can't believe that nearly 200 people have managed to solve this puzzle.
I haven't even gotten to the start yet.
Is this a puzzle that non-English speakers can't solve?
Or am I simply missing something?

I have only solved the first step, but what I can confirm is that getting to the start has nothing to do with the English language, or any specific language for that matter. I'm not at liberty to give you more explicit hints since I'm not the puzzle creator, but this is a good starting point for solving puzzles on SG, if you don't know about it yet.
Good luck! :)
Edit: I actually managed to fully solve it after trying another time after this comment, and the audio part of the puzzle does require you to be able to understand spoken English, though I suppose dictation software might be able to convert the audio to text correctly. If you do get access to the audio and have trouble understanding what's being said, I can help you out if Tomas doesn't mind! Maybe send the audio link to me privately to prove that you have indeed accessed the page, and I'll transcribe the text and send it to you :)
Edit edit: never mind, I just realized that I can't ask you to send the audio link to me without first proving that I have indeed solved the puzzle, and that's something I have no way of proving to you. Maybe use dictation software or ask Tomas to transcribe it for you, if needed.

Great-uncle Harry was always an eccentric fellow.
Now that he passed away, and his testament was opened, it turns out he left you a huge painting
and a locked jewelry box that opens via a keypad code
You decide to examine the painting carefully. Old Harry was always fond of hidden drawers and compartments that he used to stage treasure hunts for you and your friends, when you were little. He'd record clues on cassette tapes, that he'd hide in various places...
Wouldn't surprise you at all if this was one last treasure hunt to remember him by.
