Not super surprising. Who would they expect to work for 15% after taxes/fees? Of course now they expect fans to buy Towns2, even though they never delivered on Towns1.

I only tried its demo. That wasn't so bright anyway. I got bored in two minutes, GUI was also disastrous.

This is why you never ever ever preorder or buy a game that is not finished. You get screwed. Speak with your wallets people. Don't let Dev's get away with this crap!

To each his own. I'd rather support a game I think has potential and end up not getting everything I wanted than have that game never reach the market. There's always a chance that the game does end up good, and I was part of what made that possible. Sure if you're completely risk averse don't go this way, but if you don't mind losing some change then I think that kind of pre-release support is a good thing. In my experience with Kickstarter, most of what I back does end up complete and decent enough.

For sure there's a lot of terrible stuff in Early Access but I still believe it can be done right, Nuclear Throne being a prime example.

I feel it makes devs more lazy. Interstellar Marines is a prime example.

I'm not sure a game dev's laziness is really a consequence of Early Access...
Steam should establish a clear set of rules and be more demanding with devs who want to go the Early Access route.

Maybe, but I'm sure early access doesn't help the situation. Steam really do need to be in more control. Once the devs take people's money, they should be giving them a completed game within a few months MAX. I've never "pre-ordered" a game years in advance. Come on devs, other games will come along and people will lose interest in yours...

Exactly, you lose interest, it slips the mind, they keep the money?

I played and enjoyed Towns two years ago. They should have ridden the publicity they got from Sips from yogscast doing a video of their game and really pushed it far then. But they didn't. It's really no wonder interest/sales in this game died out. Not only did they not give enough fixes and updates but they didn't take advantage of their window of opportunity.
