I really like Afraid Of Monsters DC, the half-life horror mod the Cry of Fear people made.

Also seconding Hidden: Source, although I don't know if that one's still alive.

ww1: source, small, yet great community and for anyone who likes ww1 style gameplay

Paranoia. Really good storyline.
Vampire Slayer. Only good if you gut friends to play with.

And BTW, Cry of Fear is Released on Steam as a standalone game.(FREE and dont need HL1) Suggest you check it out!

Afraid of Monsters for HL1.

Half-Life 2: Wars is pretty good.

Back when it was working, Zombie Master, definitely. You had to be careful, because there were a lot of terrible mods like upgrade servers, or terrible maps for things like Tetris. But when you had a good vanilla server with good maps, it was an amazing game, and at the time there was almost nothing like it. (It's important to remember that it predates the craze for zombie games sparked by L4D.) Even today it's pretty unique. Unfortunately you can no longer find good servers, since development stopped.

Sven co-op was pretty fun I remember. Cry of fear is only deserving of a playthrough if you have no constitution at all.

No Heart of Darkness of POV for HL1? Amazing mods for their time.

The Specialists mod for Half-Life 1. Really enjoyed it till all I could find for good ping servers was ones filled with idiot racists, but that was many years ago.

Fortress Forever for Half-Life 2. Its what TF2 should have been. Its based on TFC, but faster. And best thing about it, no freakin hats.
