Which is better?

Should I get both? is SOTS 2 playable now or still buggy etc?

The screenshots for SotSII were much prettier before the Enhanced Edition came out. That's all I know about the game :P

SOTS 2 is still buggy, but it has gone from a broken mess to quite playable. Could still use some improvements, but for $5, go for it!
Also, get Stars!, if you can, it is an outstanding 4X space game (yes, I had to advertise that game ;) )

depend on you, in long shot, get SOTS 2 ( or even better , get the first one) , if you want to play something good, but shorter, pick Endless space

Endless space definitely, the developers keep updating the game, releasing many free add-ons and they listen to the community to update the game to the right direction
