Objectively worse than fallout 4? Really by whose measurement? I hate Bethesday games with a fucking passion, I played fallout 4 it was boring as fuck. The first bit of Mass Effect didn't grab me, the rest did. So really all I see is bandwagon hate at this point from people who probably haven't played the game.

CDPR is not a 2 man indie dev with a $3.5 budget \o/ The FO comparison is to highlight the irony that the same critics which lauded FO4 despite it's janky/gnarly animations are now lambasting ME:A.

It's a mixture of a lot of things:
- Psycho eyes, as you point out
- No facial expression to complement what's said or done (like no smiling with eyes, when smiling with mouth)
- Just outright poor mouth animations. Obviously not mocap.
- Rigid, weird body language/movement

They did a new algorithm based animating thingy because of the new dialogue enhanced wheel which changes future dialogue according to your preferences. Here is an explanation from another developer. Andromeda has more dialogue than OT combined.

I finally got around to trying Andromeda and the faces don't bug me too much. SAM repeating the mining tutorial over and over and over even after three planets... and those temperature warnings, really? the snow planet is COLD? it's still cold after I move away from the heat lamp? well really, I'm just astonished
