hi my system config is
Gigabyte GA-B75M-D3H rev 1.1
intel core i5 3470
sapphire hd 7770 ghz edition
g.skill ripjawx 2 x 4gb ram @1600 mhz
Seasonic S12II 520 Watts PSU

now the problem. my bios is F7, which came with mobo
system is installed for around 11 months now, and everything is working fine.
but for past 4 days, when i boot up my system, i get this

"your bios is reset"
"load optimized bios and boot"
"load optimized bios and reboot"
"enter bios"

whether i select any option, my system runs fine. i even played fifa 14 and crysis 3. no problem at all.
also, this happens if i shut down and power off my pc for couple of hours.
if i do it quickly, there is no problem.
so can anyone help what is the problem?
should i update to new bios F15?
thx for help guys...

edit: updated to latest bios F15, now i'll wait for couple of hours to see if problem is still there,

If you are having BIOS issues, then yes. If your system runs fine then leave your BIOS alone

my problem is listed in main post, other than that, no problem at all.

That is still a problem though! If the issue doesn't have any affect on your system then it is up to you on whether or not to update but in my experience as a computer technician I would say problems=update...system running well(no matter how long)=no BIOS updates. BIOS updates for the sake of updating are risky and a lot of times aren't worth the other bugs/issues they can come along with

Check battery on motherboard and clean it, or replace it & do the BIOS update if there update available. 90% of problems with PC comes with dust so clean PC very carefully ;)

Here is a link to the correct BIOS files if you do chose to update - LINK

Here is a link on how to flash your BIOS - LINK

Good luck!

EDIT: I would definitely recommend updating your BIOS because on the companies website they do not offer version 7 BIOS as a download option which leads me to believe that 7 had some issues or problems with it.

You need to have the motherboard replaced.

NO, what in the world would make you think that?!

1 decade ago

Because the battery is fucked, and the board is probably under a three-year warranty. If he puts a replacement in and the motherboard dies a year from now, the warranty is void due to user hardware modifications.

i'm very sure that won't be the case(hopefully)

Trust me on that. Changing the battery voids the warranty.

I'm not in the US, nor have the slightest idea how you came to that conclusion, and I have practical experience with voided warranties and motherboards with stickers over batteries.

You can't get a voided warranty for changing a battery.

Put it this way, if I buy a remote control car, and put a new battery in, is the warranty voided? No, because this is called hardware maintenance.

I don't have a Gigabyte motherboard manual handy, but pretty much every manufacturer explicitly states that aftermarket and/or non-manufacturer changes and tweaks will void the warranty. That, in practice, includes changing the battery, replacing weak heatsinks (and previously, faulty fans), etc.

Speaking of batteries, I've seen (and owned) motherboards with "warranty void if seal broken" stickers over batteries.

It's bullshit, but that's how it is. They'll cover their ass as much as possible.

He's in India. EU laws don't apply.

Which motherboard manuals explicitly state "you are allowed to change the battery without voiding the warranty"?

Touch your case (the inside metal, with both hands) before you handle the motherboard, this will discharge the static electricity and stop you from shorting your mobo.

Do not do this on carpet, preferably wood floor or concrete.

ok, on concrete than :) thx...

No problem,

I'm only saying this but it should be obvious not to use anything sharp or to handle it too roughly.

I've seen some @#$% at my local staples tech backroom, It's not even funny that this should be said.

can you load the bios install onto a USB, sounds like you rebooted/shutdown/interrupted a flash.

nop, as far as i remember, i shutdown my pc as usual, booted up after an hour and got this. not any kind of update/installation was running.
as matter of fact, i remember, i cancelled windows 7 shutdown process a night before. can this caused by that?

Not that I'm aware of, unless the motherboard was doing something and you interrupted it then windows doesn't touch your bios. Unless of course you installed software to change your bios that's sometimes provided for higher end motherboards.

nop, nothing installed on that day.
and i'm pretty sure mobo wasn't doing anything.
alas, if bios update solves it, its good as i don't have any other problem. else, cmos is getting replaced.

depends, some bios's can get fucked up from virus' and some bios', Like mine get tweaked from windows. Though I use a bio teak tool via MSI's OC tools.

That motherboard has dual bios, so if you mess up the flash it will restore from the backup.
