I haven't had persimmon wrapped sushi, I'm both intrigued and put off by the idea. Apparently it's left to sit for a few days wrapped in the leaves, which isn't exactly my definition of fresh and local. I get that historically it was useful since the fish had to be transported inland and preserved... Still, it's a huge step up from grocery store packaged sushi! Are you a sushi lover and what did you think?

About the 5-storied pagodas, I have found this: "the five tiers of the pagoda represent, in ascending order, the elements from which Buddhist believe all things in the universe are created: earth, water, fire, wind, and sky".

I had thought they were selling real poop of deer until I read the note below. Japan...

And at last I found some dirty walls! But I'm afraid it's tourists fault :/ Although it is nice to see all that good wishes hanging on the wall from a lot of different people all over the world^^

Deer poop? At first I was like WTF JAPAN!?, but then I noticed the "chocolate beans". I'm relieved.
