The dragon fight was weird, the first couple of shots were good and then I would barely scratch him for what seemed like forever. But then I started hitting him hard again and finished him in epic fashion with a critical shot :). It shields himself after a certain amount of dmg taken, you have to change weapon type then(I think). But I had the same problem as barbarian.

I think I found a bug:
In the shop I bought a piece of paper which said "Thanks for all your coins" and then I had 0 coins, but I proceeded to buy a Big Energy Potion which gives 17 energy and... I bought it successfully and had 17 coins after that. The potion cost less than I had prior to losing my coins if that matters :)
I'm really unlucky this time around as I carried that damn key all across the map before finding where to use it and I probably have the most deaths this game :D

The note makes you think you lost all your money because your gold shows as 0. I had a minor heart attack until I tried purchasing something as well. It's an evil trap as if you truly think you lost the gold and leave the shop, you might not even notice that you still have it.
Since only the visual display shows 0, your real gold is the same as before (maybe the paper subtracted 1, I'm not sure).

Damage is more important to finish the game without trouble in fights. But indeed I never found an energy regen weapon or item as a mage so I don't know. I may have wanted to keep this. However dmg is what will take you to the endgame faster not just energy... You can collect money for extra energy, while you can't do the same for more dps...hard choice...I always went with best dmg for staff, personally. But if it was a non-staff item, I'd probably kept it forever.

Thanks for the help! I decided to stick with my strongest one, since 2 energy each 5 steps is way too little. And I'm liking my damage the way it is now. Even tough I ran out of energy and energy potions, that lever quest will be a pain. :')

Actually 2 energy per 5 steps is huge, and with how important Energy is in this game I would have taken it without hesitation. But it sounded like you really needed the damage so... anyway you made it through, so congratulations!

Minor hint:
There is a very specific sequence which you will not find by just trial and error unfortunately.
There is a specific place in the map that should give you the answer you seek. If however you already visited it, and did not pay attention or note it down, it might be hard to find it again. You may literally have to re-search the whole map. Also check the hint below by @Server.

There is a warning message on class selection screen which says that the winners limit for Thieves has been reached, so new players select either Barbarian of Mage now :)

PS: In any case I restarted just for the heck of it, with a thief now. It's indeed so refreshing, the fact that energy replenishes so easily. :P Much faster exploring than with the wizard. And already killed a ghoul. Which the wizard really could not on lvl1. :O
EDIT:@Server, tbh I still think Ghouls and Scratchy birds could use a "minor nerf", cause they are a bit too much for lvl1 adventurers. Without artifacts and without the stat points that you gave us for lvl 1 later as a bonus, they are really almost impossible to kill on lvl1. They are fine for lvl 2 spawns though. :P

I didn't have problems with the scratchy birds as thief on lvl 1, I liked them, they give nice exp compared to the others. The bleeding they cause is more problematic.
I'm pretty sure I had something to do with reaching that 1300 as well. :P

Are you sure it's worth it to head back towards shop? Unless you have teleportation scrolls stocked and a load of gold you're going to risk more by going back than staying in the region.
The dragon is fairly weak if you are high leveled with a decent weapon, so I'd recommend you farm nearby random encounters instead (they drop items too, remember?) and gear up that way (letting yourself die and revive a few times if necessary). You're the first person I've heard of that is actually having trouble with it :(

I've finished game few minutes ago :) ┬──┬ ¯_(ツ) I was figting the dragon too early - level 9, and i didnt had any scrolls besides invisibility and i think that i had also blindess potion. I went back, earlier got robbed by someone from part of my gold, he probably read my post above and he knew it was me lying on the ground. On my way back i slayed few monsters, got energy & health potions, got lvl 10, when i got to stairs first i went to magic shop and bought 4xTS, then i visitted normal shop and bought few EP. After that i slayed Dendroid, visitted Witch and killed the Dragon, but mages already reached treasure limit (╯°□°）╯︵ ┻━┻)

Ah, sorry to hear that. If it makes you feel better I think the mage cap was already reached yesterday so it wouldn't have made any difference. I'm still surprised to hear that the fight was so hard at level 9 though, perhaps I was just very lucky with my weapon.

Imagine that most of us didn't have those points in our first character either, at least not in the beginning (lvl1-2 mostly). They were added later on. You can consider the 2nd character as a hardcore mode since you don't get initial artifact either. (if you contributed) xD
PS: Actually I'd love it if monsters got a small boost after each replay we did. Then it would be really hardcore on future runs. xD

Special items seem to be a bit buggy sometimes. I quit and come back and realise they're not in my inventory any more, and have to go and get them again. Happened with the pigeon as well now.

11 rounds of randomness while super weak, and so much energy wasted.
Thank god there is a way to "partly" manipulate it, and with a bit of luck, I didn't have any encounter while it lasted.
I can imagine easy early deaths however just with a small stroke of bad luck. And it was just a few minutes past the rez clock time too, hehe (!)

That was me as a mage, disorientation on the first action, in the end I won 3 battles, seen 3 squares of dungeon and a total of 2 or 3 places checked. and 8 hp left.

Seems like a potential minor bug:
I was bleeding to death, and thought I would try to kill a monster before dying and using my phoenix vial. I fought a fairy, and I did deliver the killing blow. The text said the fairy was dead. Right afterwards it says I'm dead from bleeding. Obviously I've lost all of fairy's drops, which I do "kinda" understand, but shouldn't I at least get the xp from the fairy? I did kill it. Cause I did not get any xp. :(
On a side note this is the 3rd time I get disoriented as a lvl 1 thief. What are the chances? :P Was wondering, those jump traps, that get you disorientated is there even a 10% chance to click on it on time? Cause I never have. That's why I always thought it was a broken mechanic. I don't even know how some people can dodge/click these. I had the same issue with the 2nd game of swords. :P No idea how to dodge in time... :O

Jump traps? As far as I know, all status ailments occur immediately upon checking a wall and being unlucky. (With some also being inflicted by certain monsters.)
I did encounter a few of those "Get to the wall!" traps where you have to click the text quick enough and they were super easy (the text didn't bounce as much as it used to). I don't know what penalty those had since I dodged all of them.

Man I don't know what mouse or browser you use, but yes I'm referring to those text traps. Some times they get you disoriented. (when you have to click the "jump" quite fast). Never ever dodged any of those. Obviously I'm too laggy for that or I don't know what the heck...

Well I'm not sure, I just spam clicked when I saw them and the text stayed near the middle of the screen the entire time (I remember in the previous game they would jump all over to the sides and corner of the screen which would make it really hard and you'd need luck to click it). Maybe it does depend on browser and other settings? So I managed to click all of them within 2-3 seconds. Maybe the timer also changed and/or depends on browser and settings?

Yea, I maxed Disorientation first for the same reason (also the fact that there is no item to counter it). Poison is the least severe ailment since you will have an abundance of HP potions (at least until you reach a certain key), bleeding kinda screws you anyway if you don't have a bandage (or you can use HP potions until you find one), blindness is annoying but can be decently bypassed if you keep notes and/or a good memory, and concussion barely ever occurs (only in combat) and apparently lasts only 1 turn(?)
Bleeding is definitely worse than disorientation in most scenarios but since the game is still mainly Energy focused it hurts more to walk in circles than dying :P

Yup in my first game I also gave 1st priority to disorientation, and then between poison and blind actually. since I did run out of eye drops and antidotes at some points. Concussion later for some specific monsters that used it often, though not really necessary since just one turn. I never put a single point in bleeding. I believe bleeding, as it is now, is either a bandage or you pretty much accept your death and get over with it. :P At least that's my logic around it.

Well, you basically lost the battle after all since you died in it. Dead guys can't claim rewards.
As for jump traps, I actually made them 2 times slower than in The Secret Castle: they just require a bit dexterity, I'm sure you'll be able to click them almost instantly over time ;)

Well I didn't lose the battle, the monster died first and I even got the text of it dying. :P I at least expected to get the xp, not getting items is ok I guess. Dead monsters should grant the xp at least, instantly imo. As for jump traps they still feel the same to me, as in 2nd game of swords, which means impossible but oh well...

You should try to rush to the finish. I guess without contributing you can get max 5 treasures, if you finish the game you get all the 80ish treasures.

I made some poor choices a while back like equipping something that won't allow me to run from battles. Battles are a pretty big drain on energy too! 80 treasures sounds nice though, hopefully I can prevail. Also it appears as if I'm #1 on the current overall leaderboard. Which is weird because I've never played this before and have just been trying to figure it out as I go.

The overall leaderboard has people removed from it as they complete the game, so it's fairly easy to reach top 10 eventually there.
If you're talking about the global leaderboard, then everyone is ranked by score which is based on kills so people who took longer (or at least beat/farmed more enemies) will actually have a higher score. I finished #3 and is ranked #27 for instance.
You should definitely try to finish. If you fail to finish in time you can still turn back and look for the giveaways.

Finally! What a long day. I started today and I think I was only level 3 and i was around position 120 or 130. I saw there was only a few spots left for Barbarian winners so I decided to see if I could finish it in 1 day... and I did :)
I played non stop and even though I was a barbarian I had no problem getting plenty of energy. Some artifacts also helped me out with that towards the end. They game was very difficult in the beginning, but became very easy for me later. It took me 3 days to get to level 2, but I don't think I had a single death after level 2. I finished with a ton of stuff that I didn't use, had 42 HP potions, 10 energy potions, 10 phoenix blood (didn't use a single one), and 25 scrolls. I think I checked every spot I could other than a couple that I may have missed in the very end because I was rushed. I checked 312 in total.
Also, I don't know why so many people complained about disorientation. It didn't really bother me at all, especially with the hint you posted somewhere in this thread. By about half way through the game I think I had 13 or 14 in disorientation resistance because I had 8 from artifacts. I know it doesn't do anything over 10, but I think I had the artifacts for other reasons.
And blindness was a non issue because I drew my own map from the start and tracked every step I took. I didn't know there would be such a good map in the game that marks everything you checked and almost all of the stuff you need to remember. The only problem was the first time I was blinded and I tried to fight.

Thanks! I saved up my special ability hoping to take someone out close to the end so I could get a head start. I was just looking at a screenshot I took when I got to the dragon and I must of really hurt another player in the end because when I got there I had 11,823 HP, lol. I don't even think I needed to use a potion during the fight.

Introduction
Game of sWords is a text RPG Adventure where you can explore dungeons (or other locations), complete quests, solve puzzles, find useful items, avoid deadly traps and fight dangerous monsters while searching for treasures (private SteamGifts giveaways links) on your way and trying to reach the end to get access to a huge amount of private giveaways! Each Game (of sWords) usually has a unique scenario and a limited number of winners, so the chances will always be great.
All giveaways have no restrictions, so anyone who finds them can join them!

Important notes about the Game
In the Game, you will have Energy Points and Health Points.
Most of the actions in the Game require Energy Points. Energy can be replenished using items, which you can find everywhere, thus it is important that you check everything around you!
Energy will also be replenished over time. Normally, you will receive 1 Energy Point every 15 minutes, and that time can be reduced with special artifacts that can be found in Game.
Note, that the Energy won't be replenishing during the battles (you can only restore it with potions)!
If you lose all your Health Points, you will also lose all the energy you had plus you will have to wait for up to 6 hours to be resurrected. (Basic Resurrection happens every 6 hours from the time the Game started - 16:00 GMT). The energy can not be replenished while you are dead!
Note: If you have problems navigating through the map, you can switch to Simplified Navigation at the bottom right corner.
I highly recommend to read this article for important Strategy Tips and general understanding of the Game :)

What's new in the current Game of sWords?
Current Game is a true RPG adventure with 3 classes, experience system and levels, multiple skills, wide variety of enemies with random encounters and huge amount of weapons, artifacts and items. There is 10 times more of everything than in the previous Game! The map is now twice as big as the one in The Secret Castle (previous Game), so you have to be ready for a long and dangerous journey! Make smart decisions, develop your character your way and lead him to success!

Winners get access to all giveaways available in the Game! (80+)
