A bump for whoever is willing to download multiple gigs for a few days trial.
The site doesn't state how many.

The full game takes up 36.9 GB on my hard drive. (An improvement on the first's massive 62.8 GB, maybe they forwent the multilingual wav files this time round). I can imagine them reducing it by excluding the campaign. For what it's worth, the game showed as already playable after downloading only 42% in the Origin client, so that may give some kind of indication for what a possibly reduced deployment could entail (admittedly pure speculation on my part).

I haven't completed the campaign yet, and have yet to try multiplayer, but what I've experienced so far was very good. Game runs very well, too.

I think it's gonna be more. With Battlefront you could also play it already while downloading, but you only had one (tiny) level and two characters.

Well, if they do decide to buy the game afterwards, they won't have to download it again and their progress will carry over.

If it's anything like the first one, I hit max level and got bored in 3 days. So if you have a day off or two you might be able to complete enough of it for free in that time if you're so inclined.

If you can't download that less than an hour you probably live in a 3rd world

Lol, what? It's probably gonna be around 20 or 30 gigs. There are plenty of people in western countries that can't download that in an hour (my download speed is 1 - 1.5 MB and I live in the Netherlands)...

Spain here on DSL. No fiber optics where I live. I average between 800kb/s to 1mb/s download & up to about 130kb/s upload speed. There are more expensive dsl options available, but I'm not that fussed as it's fast enough for me to watch my tv shows & I don't mind waiting a few hours or a day for a game to download & install in the background if it's over 30GB or so.

Even in places like UK some people only have access to piss poor internet connections or are limited to horrible limited usb dongle sticks which are overpriced & have limited bandwidth. I'm just happy we only have to pay €20 & have unlimited bandwidth, though sure I wouldn't mind fiber optic connection somewhere down the line if it becomes available & is reasonably priced.

What does this game compare to?

Well, it is a twitch shooter with parkour and mech gameplay. It's both chaotic and tactical. I don't think I can compare it to one single game. It takes elements from multiple games and creates something of its own.

if i truly had to compared it to one game I'd call it call of duty 5. Before you kill me, for me the game brings the best of COD fast shooting mechanics and adds 3 new layers:
1) verticality by allowing you to slide and wall run and a few other parkour activities and desiging the maps to fully
2) a mecha showdown : during battle you will call your mech 1-3 times which means that each mech you destroy chances are that that player will take a very long to get another.
3) AI bots that serve as fodder (so you always have something to shoot)

Those 3 layers make the game "better" then COD because it makes the game have less predictability and more "epic" moments, the AI bots will act like you are the ace of your team and allows for the game to never evolve to a "hide and seek" gameplay; The mecha showdown allows for a change of pace and a chance to turn a bad situation to a good one since each mech can kill a player with a few shots however by using parkour you can mostly keep away from their sight and since the titans have long CD losing one is a blow for the team; the verticality allows for the "normal" player to player action to reward more skilled since you can use walls to change your trajectory.

I just wish that game dont die like the original did .
It was such a fun game , just buried cause of the arguable lack of content :/

Even tho i despise FPS games i enjoyed playing it for few hours ...

Yeah the first game was overhyped and lacked content. As a result it died pretty fast. This time around, things are different. In addition to a single player campaign, they added a ton of customisation for both your pilot and your titan. Also all the dlc that effects the gameplay will be free, like maps, game modes and weapons. There's an in game store for additional cosmetic stuff but they're very reasonably priced (3 bucks for 20 camos). So I think this game will actually grow more with time just like Rainbow Six Siege. It has a very passionate community and an awesome developer team that really cares about their players.

Are you sure it died? I thought some amount of players still play the first one. I still want to use my free trial for it so I hope players still play it when I get a chance to join in.

I'm not sure if they'll allow preloading. I'll share here when I know for sure. As for the how/where, i'm pretty sure you'll see it on origin store.
Edit: No preload :(

Trial is live right now, though it seems to be not working for some. Check Origin to see if you can start downloading.

It's working for some people. Go to Origin and try your luck. It'll be completely fixed probably in a few hours.

They're working on it but it's gonna take a while I guess. They've done a really bad job with this so far. They should've at least let people preload the game. I just hope this doesn't discourage people from trying the game.

I heard somewhere that Origin Access members got the trial 2 days before everyone else. I guess that's not happening now.

Yeah, EA/Origin access members got it two days early. I didn't hear anyone of them having problems.

That's strange. You can try contacting EA support but just waiting for them to fix this issue for everyone will probably be faster.

Gonna enjoy download 25 gigs at 200kb/s ( I dont even know how good origin's speed is ).
Yeah, these two days aren't gonna help me decide anything except how long does it take me to download the game.

I hear you man. It's very annoying when they do this. I remember trying the free weekend for one of call of duties. It took me all saturday to download the damn thing, just to uninstall it after the first match :)
