Hello there.

Today I read an article about how trailers are showing too much these days. I remembered how years ago the dilemma was how the trailer showed a better and a lot more interesint story than the real film but... now...

The author of the text talked a lot about the new trailer about "creed" (I guess its the new Rocky film in the franchise) and how showed basically the whole plot, at the end he even recommended to NOT watch it because the amount of info exposed.

What do you think?

some might think its couter productive but apparently those corporate vipers had made studies that prove that people will have an easier time spendint their money on a movie ticket if they know what the plot is about, so yeah theres science behind that bullshit.

I personaly, if care for something i will avoid it like the plague, Movies, or Videogames.

i suppose that happens because people are so impatient now that they can't wait to see the whole movie.

It's not a new problem, I remember back in the 90's (I don't remember much about anything prior, sorry) entire movies would be spoiled as well. It's possible that it was better in the 80's and earlier, but trailers were quite often iffy as far back as I can remember, in particular for action movies or comedies.

Terminator Genisys trailer comes to my mind.
The film summed up in 2,5 mins.

Oh yeah, exactly my thoughts. When I saw it my interest in this movie dropped really low. I will eventually watch it but revealing that plot twist was... well I can't even think why they showed it. Maybe they had some market studies that showed that people don't want to watch it so the thought it will lure them into cinemas? I don't know.

Anyway, like Silverio said, it's funny how we got from trailers that showed great scenes that wasn't included in movie (for example The Negotiator from 1998) to trailers that show everything. Other things are teasers that should not exist, yet some people are starving to see 15 seconds of logos, 5 seconds of dark scene, and then 10 seconds of some dates and faybeoo links. I still remember watching some leak footage that was shown on something-Con where after seeing a piece of forrest and maybe fragment of some ship people went apes**t. Just like monkeys.

Trailers (and quipping about them with friends) are one of the reasons to go to theaters :P

Badly done trailers are an issue regardless of where you find them, and are easily accessed online.
