Won Region Restricted Giveaway :/ (Looking for answers)

is against the rules. you will get punishment if you dont redeem the game, so contact support so they can tell you what to do.

You should first report it. Make them know that you can't use it. If not they suspend you for not adding to your account.

Then you can give it away :D

Message the GA creator, give them the chance to give you a Non Locked game. They have up until 7 days to do so. After the seven days you may create a support ticket.

Do not mark it received.

Return the restricted copy to the giveaway creator. If he does not provide you with a copy you can activate within 7 days of the giveaway ending, mark it as "Not received".

Only those giveaways marked region-restricted (i.e. under "Region Restrictions" when the giveaway was created) are allowed to be region-restricted. Everything else should be region-free. So let the person who created the giveaway know, and give them the chance to send you a region-free copy of that game. If they can't send you something you can redeem, you should wait seven days and mark it "not received."

And definitely don't mark the game received if you couldn't add the game to your account! Sooner or later, some nosy person will check your profile and see you won game "X" but didn't redeem it to your account. Then you get reported to the Steamgifts support, and you get suspended...

Oh, one more thing, I would return the region-restricted copy to the giveaway creator, and let them create a proper region-restricted giveaway for it next time... Good luck! :)

This happened to me earlier this week. The creator apologized and offered me a game as compensation, but didn't want the original gift. My weird life.
