A message from us to you.
Last week, we’ve mentioned that some of our games might no longer be available. Today, we can confirm that we lost 9 store listings out of possible 10. The one listing that was saved was Sherlock Holmes: Crimes and Punishments on Steam.
The outcome is pretty bleak, and we are fighting an uphill battle, trying to resubmit our games back on their stores where possible. This process is going to take us several months, but there is hope and we will continue to push on.
The one thing that we have to say is this. We will be forever grateful for the sheer-amount of public and industry-wide support that we got. We truly appreciate everyone who added their voice to the issue. We were blown away.
To say “thank you” we put together a digital booklet of behind the scenes stories and anecdotes from our Sherlock Holmes games. We called it Sherlock Holmes: Memories, Stories, Thoughts. This booklet is available to download to everyone – FREE of charge. It’s a small token of our huge appreciation for the support we received.
Here’s how you can download the booklet:
• GOG: Use the redeem code SWEETTHANKS at gog.com/redeem (and btw - Sherlock Holmes: Crimes and Punishments is now 50% off on GOG - https://www.gog.com/game/sherlock_holmes_crimes_and_punishments)
• Steam: Collect as a free DLC on the Sherlock Holmes: Crimes and Punishment store page (available in a few hours)
• Also available at http://frogwares.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/FrogwaresArtbook.pdf as a direct link
We will continue to update you as we go along on our journey, and once again, thank you for all your support.
Regards,
Frogwares

So apparently Focus Home Interactive, the publisher of games like GreedFall, A Plague Tale, etc. has just implemented a new policy; Any indie dev studio they work with will be forced to stay contracted to them forever or else they will not only remove their games from digital store fronts but also hold the game IDs hostage so that the developers cannot re-list them (at least not without using a new ID and thus no longer being on anyones wishlist). The developer Frogwares is the first ones to be harmed by this so far. More info here:
