CLG Entertainment did a buy, games like Puzzle Agent, Batman y The Wolf Among Us will keep being what they are but others like stranger things and TDW probably died

Take a look to https://www.polygon.com/2019/8/28/20835854/telltale-games-return-walking-dead-lcg-entertainment to avoid me breaking more English words.

Questions remains If they change these series or keep the chore. There are a lot of series, that got turned around into something completely new after new companies took over. First one, that comes to my mind, is the Fallout Series. Fallout 1 and 2 are completely different games in comparison to Bethesda's Versions. 3 and ongoing are not necessarily bad, but they do not represent the original company's idea anymore.

The article mentions possibly hiring some workers from Telltale but I'm sure a lot of it will change. Whatever happens, I hope it turns out good.

Some workers like janitors? xD

That's a good gesture, though when it comes to matters of profits it could just as easily be a patchjob attempt at repairing the branding they bought along with the properties.

I mean, people can set their sights on profits while also trying to do a good thing, but I'm going to stay cautious for the time being.

The new Telltale is headed up by Jamie Ottilie and Brian Waddle. (...) Ottilie has spent much of his career in mobile games, most recently as founder and CEO of Galaxy Pest Control, which is best known for licensed games based on Duck Dynasty and Power Rangers. Waddle’s previous experience includes running sales and marketing for the Havok game engine. Neither worked at Telltale Games prior to its shuttering in 2018.

I'm afraid, they may try to turn them into mobile games direction. But, well, better this, than dead, I guess.

So they have all the tt catalog, but twd and games with expired licenses? Are they back on sale?

You should read the linked article
Nope, it's only for a few selected licenses but they are still trying to get some more but explicitly not for TWD, which is now owned by Skybound.
We'll see if they really manage to carry on with Telltale's spirit. It sounds at least promising enough to stay optimistic. :)

I think TWD was wrapped up nicely already. It's better for a game series to die a dignified death due to finishing the story it wanted to tell, rather than over-extend and fizzle out in poor form. Sometimes things go on too long because they try to milk a good thing too much, but other times it's because they (or their fans) love the work enough that nobody wants it to end.

From what I head Skybound said there might be more TWD games, but the Clementine story is over.

Well, we will see, would be nice if they can add some games back to be bought on Steam again, missed some that I wanted but when I heard telltale was going down, no more sale showed so I never bought them, though no clue if all Telltales games are off from buying on Steam or some are still there and so, if anything for those will change.

Regardless, this is actually great news! I look forward to seeing some of Telltale's old games back on Steam :) Not sure if any of the new games will be as great as the original Telltale games but I'm willing to give these guys a shot - fingers crossed!

Yes, I binge watched the first 8 seasons on Amazon Prime. Happy that 8 didn't end on a cliff-hanger!

I personally hope we finally get Back to the Future: The Game Part II, or Season 2 however you want to call it. That cliffhanger ending in the first game needs explaining, for one thing.
