Why they just don't put it to game website for free? For me they are worthless.

Just a friendly warning, promoting piracy can result in a ban.

they don't make them free because they're made by a 3rd party company usually not the same people who make money from the game, and it takes time and resources to make one. But more importantly they do it because here are people who'll pay.

but yeah, i don't get why people buy them either.(but i certainly get why they sell them) I just go to the internet(not torrents to steal guides, I mean like the game's wiki, forums, or hint sites like gamefaqs) like you suggest if I ever needed one

Yeah, it seems like a waste of money when a lot of games have dedicated wiki pages for them, and at least those get updated frequently.
The only games that I can think of that need a decent guide are games with a lot of lore that can't be found ingame like the elder scrolls.

Massive Elder Scrolls wiki pages.

True, but with a game so big i'm sure it has a lot of hardcore fans that would love to read it since it's formatted better that those wikia pages.

why do you need strategy guides? Games these days usually don't have the oldschool obscure mechanics and puzzles with secrets that are too hard to find :).

I said "for me they are worthless" so I don't need them. I just wondered why they costs a game value. If I would need there is YouTube and there are tons of game websites.

:/

While this is mostly true, have you tried games like Lunnye Devitsy or The Void? Or Hitogata Happa? I dare anyone to complete any of those without guides. It is possible, but those games remind me of the ancient days when you had to throw oak stakes at orbs. Damn...

because they are sold to idiots. you can afford to jack up the prices when you sell to idiots because they'll pay anything for them. because theyre idiots.

I actually don't get the ones sold on Steam. I can see the worth of the physical versions sold at game stores for console games, because for some games it does indeed help to have something to actually look at and most console players don't have a computer near their console to go look something up on Youtube or GameFAQs, if they know they can find game help there.

But having a copy to download, especially for PC games that are often played fullscreen just makes a lot less sense. It just would be a lot harder to flip over to the guide while in the middle of a game. Actually, part of why I like playing games windowed is so I can easily go click over to GameFAQs if I need it.

no idea about the guide and something like that. donno why they are so expensive. I always watch youtube walkthrough to know how to get achievements or unlock something but never read any guides....
