You can report him on steamrep and steam, as long as you have ADEQUATE proof.
If you have adequate proof, he won't manage to make people believe his false claims.

You should practice more discretion and trade only with reputable users based on their rep. It's not foolproof but it's better to be safe than sorry. And remember the inherent rule of trading - if an offer seems to good to be true, then it definitely is.

What type of trade was this? Depending on your answer, there might be a few things you can do when it comes to reporting. Otherwise you have to take this as a learning experience (and maybe it'll stick this time).

People try to scam me like 99999 times in a year, often i get 4~ friends adds and texts they want to trade x item or whatever with me.
Look their profile, if private = scammer
if VAC banned = scammer
if weird profile comments = scammer
look for steamrep
also have some brains to understand they offer way too much for your stuff

one of my friends has multiple vac bans due to his kids he is the furthest thing from a scammer though

I was scammed only once, just started playing tf 2 and got a hat, someone offered me a few weapons, only later did I found out those thing were worth a lot more weapons. Other than than no, I get the occasional private profile that I report for phishing and delete.

It wasn't the smae person but once i lost space engineer cd key a few years ago, but i got it back by the store where i bought, another time i lost 5 tf2 keys maybe you heard something about that huge scam about metal gear solid 5, that faggy kiddo solte hundreds of keys and of course steam didn't do anything.

Wont name him it isn't allowed here but this guy scammed me way back when i had nothing and then he scammed me again.
