Captain America or Iron Man ?Whose Side Are You On?

Don't Care!

Wow, no comments yet? Surprised.

With what I know alone, I would side with Cap, mostly because he has a moral compass, and his ideals are unwavering, unlike the other superheroes. But from what the reviews tell me, it seems that my opinion could change mid - film.

I don't know what exactly they're fighting over this time around. So it's hard to judge.

But I'm usually a Cap guy.

I'm with Cap because he's against the Government's control over superheroes (Government wants to registrate ALL the superheroes with their real names... so every villain can hurt their families)

more spoiler alert:
Because Rorschach tells him to do so, in the comic book at least. Because there he'd rather die than cover up the truth

He also told him to do so in the movie. The scene was SHOCKING :'(

You know he isn't Marvel, but did you know he, and all the other watchmen characters, are pretty directly based on characters in the DC universe? (DC wouldn't let Moore use them, but Moore got around it by altering the characters slightly.) DC, in turn, got those characters from the defunct Charleton Comics in the 80s. And the character Rorschach is based on was originally created by Steve Ditko, the co-creator of Spiderman, after he left Marvel Comics in the 60s.

True story.

It's one of the few times in comics the passing of a mantle really works. And it's cool because Charlie actually gets an end to his story, which is almost unheard of for mainstream superheroes. A good end too--he dies well. I like Rucka's work on that story.

Then New 52 came along and destroyed everything I love...

I've heard a more complicated version of the story.
The concept of Watchmen was conceived as an alternate timeline to the DC universe. But DC didn't want Alan Moore to use the main DC characters, so Moore went digging into history and wrote alternate versions of characters from Charlton Comics, which at the time had already been bought out by DC.

So we end up with Rorschach being based on the original The Question (who is still part of the main DC in some form or another), Dr. Manhattan being an expy of Captain Atom, The Comedian being a new take on Willy Schultz etc.

Batman.
He already beat Superman and he is rich as much as Tony Stark and Captain America is probably the most stupid hero that exist.

But then, there's this

In the story, Punisher supported Captain A. during the original Civil War event (even after Cap. punched him out). When Cap. was killed Frank thought it was important that there be a Captain America.

I know. But then, it's more of a "soldiers unity" then beliveing in Captain and his ideals. Same with becoming Captain, he soon decided it's not for him, because he can't be someone who would show Captain's ideals.

In Civil War I sided with Captain America, but in Captain America: Street Fight, I'm not taking sides. In my opinion they're doing this movie way too early, way too short and with way too few people.

Probably will be (I'll watch it on the premiere here of April 29th), I didn't mean to sound like it will be bad, just that it won't be close to the epicness the comics were.

As I understand it, though I have a crush on RDJ's incarnation of Tony, I'd have to go with Cap... because of the registration of powered people. I mean, we saw the same basic thing with the X-Men and the Mutant Registration Act. I can see both sides of the issue... there is the right to privacy and freedom and not being discriminated against for who you are, and then there's the monitoring and possible control of people who may do harm.

I'll paraphrase Ben Franklin on this one and say that if you're willing to give up some essential liberty for some safety, perhaps you deserve neither.
