Dead Matter: A Dayz type mod for Crysis 2 [Crysis 2 75% off]

Open Alpha will be on the 25th, but here is a vid:

Here is a VoD of a stream from the same guy. The game bugs out around 38, showing it is indeed in alpha. But there is some daytime footage in there.

You have the abilities of the suit it would seem. You can see the run speed and ability to kick cars around, though they may be adjusted later. The guy in the vid says you have to shoot the head to kill the zombies. There is no multiplayer right now, but it is in the works.

According to the maker, he has been making it since before dayz came out. I don't know how well his mod will do with The War Z fiasco going on. Are you guys interested in another dayz type game?

Yes, but most people would throw it in with dayz so i put that in there. and typing dayz is much easier than typing "Open World Survival (with Zombies)"

To be completely honest, have you seen any real/meaty open world survival zombie games prior to DayZ? I don't play DayZ, but you can't deny the impact it has had on the industry.

Good call, Dead Rising is awesome but it's hardly in the same style as DayZ/WarZ - if anything it's more of an action RPG set inside a mall. A fantastic one to be sure, but it's not what I would compare to what Day/WarZ are offering and trying to accomplish. That's why I didn't list Project Zomboid either ;)

I updated OP with a link to a livesteam. It has daytime footage, but also multiple bugs in the vid. You can see it is definitely an alpha product.

Thanks Gramis! The more open world zombie/survival games, the better! It IS a shame WarZ has turned out to be so disappointing, hopefully it can be tidied up and fixed properly given time - though I'm not holding my breath - and DayZ is too full of griefers and has an awful interface.

Oh my God, I just recently bought ARMA to play DayZ (and I stopped because my FPS is 15-20 :| ) but this :O

Now I need to buy Crysis 2 .. Damn you :(

so far it sounds like they are just doing this to have fun themselves. It will probably not have too frequent of updates, but it will be free :)

The Crysis pack over at amazon is $15 and includes all 4 crysis. Cyrsis 2 is $10 over there. Its Origin, but still good price.
