Misuse of steam new feature (sending pics via chat)

Yes, I also think people could misuse a regular chat by sending links to virus downloads and other shit.

I think it's people's own responsibility to decide who they choose to associate with and deal with the possibility of having to deal with such situations.

Misuse? Everybody on my FL is a friend so I trust them. Maybe you need to delete some friends if you worried about getting bad links or (WTH thats so bad) nudes -.-

No. That happens with every chat service so it can't really be "misused" in that way.

Sending nudes would be the best use I don't see any misuse here :D

Nudes over internet are a complete misuse of sexuality. I don't get those who prefer to lose their times with virtual things than real ones. Said by someone who is not me.

I think that everywhere people can share their data, people can also commit illegal stuffs of many sources. Valve should be aware of that.

My steam name was actually Send Nudes for a period of time, but I changed it since I figured it was a dead meme. Guess I was ahead of my time

When i get nudes that i don't want i can report the sender, i can block the sender or ignor the sendings. Or a combination of them
So i don't think that many will abuse it at the contact with ME :o)

Just disable the whole thing. Add this to the Steam client launch options and restart it: -nofriendsui

Eventually you're going to get a numbnuts or two, and probably a picture of his numb nuts (or two).

If you're more selective about your friends, I'd say it probably won't happen.

I've never gotten the issue with nudes. I get when women don't want them and I think the people who just send unsolicited nudes, but it's not like it's some awful thing that you'll have negative consequences for seeing. Just unfriend them, call them a moron and move on with your life.

But of course, you can also write awful stuff, so as usually, with any form of communication, there's bound to be opportunities for abuse.

Question, does the new chat system can send mp3 or webm files? If yes, then I wont dare to open pretty much anything for being a potencial jumpscare!

Something like that has been around for so long (not on steam but other places) like skype. Dangerous world but unfortunately you can't tell what's what until they ask the dumb question, you gotta pic? lol. But you would think people sending nudes via a game chat or some form of it would freak out cause what if the screen shot it and make fun of that person? XD
