It can be better. But remember the old UI has been in use for years. So it got a lot of updates.

steam doesn't always tell you when people reply in discussions sometimes, only know about it cause i went back to the forums of the game to see if other people had the same problem and saw a reply to mine.
Memory leakage so the launcher uses more cpu and ram the longer its open
deleted steam music library system in place and everybody lost all playlists
going back to the previous page doesnt always work
artwork and screenshots don't always load
friend messages DON'T show up at all on notifications so i had no way of knowing people were messaging me until i changed back to the
old one and had a few waiting
support message from steam dont show up on new ui
uses far more ram and its laggy in places like scrolling achievements
store pages and steam itself takes longer to load
laggy as hell when loading screen shots and takes ages to load what it could do before in half a second
i cant drag steam windows around anymore
the only thing i can do is full screen or minimize.
stops me from changing the size at all or moving the screen around.
not every times but like 75% of the time i use steam
cant close artworks and screen shots when they open in new window because theirs no x!!! you need to close them from the taskbar
all i can get out of steam support was its network problems on your end
but using -Vgui fixed everything until they fucked it over and removed it

I suppose that it will be only worse for w7 users. My guess is that they will brick it 1 jan 2024 just like ubisoft did with their launcher one day - mising ddl's and you can't even open launcher on w7.
What about games they are selling that doesn't support w10 and newer? Will they remove them from the store? Or test every single one of them If they can be run?

Damn i see, for me I wasn't using most of these functions to begin with i guess, that's why I don't really have an issue with the new UI. The only thing is probably the notification centre being kinda cluttered.
