So my steam account just got hacked

Apparently one of my friend on steam got their account hack and they impersonated that person to get my account hacked. I'm kinda panicking right now? Will I be able to get my account back? Will I lose all my items? what should I do? Also not sure if its safe to post the person's profile in this thread so I won't for the time being. Anyone else have this before? I'm really scared.

Thats bad, but i have also a question now. I clicked on the link, but it didnt showed any Site, in Mozilla Firefox and Google Chrome, nothing, said its not working or something like that. So am i Safe?

Have only the People Problems where seeing something, like Log In and stuff and they logged in or so? Just to be curious though. ^^

Good Luck to others that they getting everything back. Oh how i hate some People on this Earth, that are really Ass.... Sorry, but makes me so mad right now.

Yes, the site in question fakes a legit looking Steam login page and as long as you don't log in there, you are safe ...

But if you do, your Steam account gets immediately hijacked and you'll have to recover it thru Steam support after.

From visiting this site alone and just looking at it, nothing would happen.

Hey, thanks for the Informations. So i can Breath normally. Since i saw nothing, blank Site on both Browser, maybe its Blocked where i Live, some Sites not allowed here. I dont know, but still, many others have it not so good, sadly. But still i changed my Password, can never know.

Hope all will be good in End and they get all back how it was.

You will probably get the account back if you can give proper proof of ownership for the account, all the required information you will get from Steam support.

As for items, there is a policy that clearly states that items won't be recovered, so in that department you may be out of luck if anything has been transferred to another account.

Other than that, Steam support is the way to go about it.

yea, just farewell for the stolen item
wonder why they couldnt recover item at any reason. I mean, its pretty easy for them to give it back to us, or make a copy since its virtual item, and delete the stolen one,, but why they didnt? why? to make us buy another one?

Well, the major reason for that is that the duped item devalues every other item of the same type and that Steam see's trades (no matter how they occured) as final, thus they won't take the item(s) back. On top of that all the info they provide to avoid scams, hijacks etc. and that people can inform themselves on how to stay safe when browsing or trading.

To be honest, people took a lot of risks when they traded back then and they didn't care that much since Steam could always save them after something went wrong, a lot of people simply abused how the system worked, while others didn't care about safety in trades and whatnot.

I mean this way the responsibility is on every user (like it should be) and the market economy is a lot healthier.
