Ah, my guess was right, it is Avenged Sevenfold. I remember liking them a lot a looong time ago. I was way younger then.
I'd have to look up what album I listened to and what songs I knew.
Edit: I remember a video where they had a vegas vibe going on, but I can't seem to find it, or am I confusing bands here?

Could be this one, although I remember it way more Las Vegas like.
But from the research I did I found out that City of Evil is the album I first discovered when it came out and I think I listened to Bat Country as well.

Even though I enjoy both their calmer and their more aggressive songs I tend to like the calmer ones more (probably because I like playing that style) like "Seize The Day" or "Buried Alive" to "Carry On" and "Unholy Confessions".
But my favourite is simply "A Little Piece Of Heaven", those lyrics, the string sections and the video are just too awesome.

Wow, many of you like this band ^^ I am happy. Keep posting songs, I even find out some songs I didn't know yet. And I am big fan of this band. My friend gave me an oportunity to listen to this band about year ago. He played Bat Country and I recognized it from SSX on tour. And I find out that Blinded in chains is in first NfS Most Wanted. And I've started to listening to them, and here we are now ^^ I am happy I find this band ^^

A Little Piece of Heaven, Buried Alive, Bat Country and Danger Line are probably my favorites. Not necessarily in that order.
I'm thinking about doing a tattoo with them this winter/next spring.

Saw them on the last tour as part of a festival, they headlined and had a great undercard of Chevelle, Volbeat, Pretty Reckless (before they were getting much radio play) and a couple others. Was a great show, sadly they don't come out my way very often, but I'm there next time for sure!

Well, to each his own I guess... Have you seen the HttK tour? The set is pretty cool, with halograms etc.
They did a great show here, though it was a little shorter I'm sure since they played with 5 other bands.

imo, hail to the king was a bit on the slow side, though they had been steadily moving in that direction as the years progressed...
there were some nice solos, though...like i said above, i picked one song per album so that album got a bit of love from me :P
