The Humble GameDev Software Bundle

Work it, make it, do it. This bundle is here to help – not only to create the game you've been dreaming of, but to get your act together while you create! You'll find software to build, design, organize, and secure your ideas. And then, who knows? Maybe your game will be the next big Humble hit!

Honestly, I'm a bit surprised that nobody seemed to care about this bundle, so I took charge of the thread this time, for the fellow aspiring devs out here who might be interested. Sorry gamers, only software this time...

Lowest BTA so far: $4.52+$0.01=$4.53 - Proof: https://i.imgur.com/Uh62d8k.png (thanks NeverOnline!)

Are you interested in knowing other ongoing bundles? Feel free to check out the new master thread

Wondering which games you already own from this bundle? There's an extension/UserScript for that! It's called the RaChart™ Enhancer

This script enhances the charts by showing you which games you already own from the ones in it. If you own it, the row will be highlighted with a green color.

But since I'm new to bundle threads, I guess the script won't work with me, until I get added to the whitelist of thread creators.

NOTE: for some reason, my T1 purchase included Voxatron, which was supposed to be in T3: https://i.imgur.com/5uOFMkP.jpg
I'll leave the chart as it is, until I've got further proof.
EDIT: it disappeared after a few days, it was probably the result of a glitch.

NOTE 2: read this if you're interested in Clickteam Fusion, this bundle doesn't include everything you might need, unlike the last one. (thanks marpenorj!)

NOTE 3: activating the Lexaloffle key for Voxatron apparently gives you PICO-8 as well.

Let me know if I did some mistakes, and I'll fix them ASAP

T1, for that juicy CV... Profitz™
BTA, I always wanted to be a game developer.
T3 is too good of an offer to refuse!
Maybe... or maybe not, lots of time to decide.

I suppose nobody cares because there are no games in there (though the bundle seems OK if you're into gamemaking software).

If anyone could donate a copy of the Pyxel software, that'd be great. Just message me on Steam with a HB link.
Already have a course for GM, just need some decent tileset software.

Apparently I wasn't aware of this one in particular. "They're more like Guidelines anyways"
"Do not ask users or developers for keys or gifts, whether in comments, chat, or outside the site."

So, not asking but an aspiring developer would definitely appreciate it.

Not to mention, some people are giving away 5 copies of Spriter Pro, what will they do with 5 copies of Pyxel?

You do realize there are 5 winners that get one copy each, not 1 winner that gets 5 copies, right? =P

Obviously, I'm holding a 5 copy giveaway myself right now.
That's why I asked what they will do with the 5 copies of Pyxel (because it isn't on Steam)

I'm pretty sure they started coming a while ago, although I can't verify myself (I enter giveaways sparingly, I'm almost always at 300 points).

I wish there was a setting for SGTools to ignore ClickTeam, or better yet, deny entry to anyone who has given away ClickTeam

Seriously, $4 can get a user to level 4. That's just ridiculous

I'd say "all of my this" but I'm doing the same thing using 90% off games.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

90% off games give $10 per $1. that might be bad, but it's nowhere near as ridiculous as $25 per $1

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Yeah but there's an extremely easy way to fix this. If the #s (app id) belong to an item that is under Software and not Games, disallow it on SG.

At least it's coming from a legit bundle, unlike that Vegas Pro price glitch in Indonesia a while ago.
For some reason, there was an influx of "new" Indonesian users at the time, as it was pretty cheap for them to make Steam Gifts capable alts... luckily, they should have all been permanently suspended by now.
And for those who had legit accounts, they got up to $240 CV for $7.5, which was a slightly better return of investment (around 25% higher than this bundle, and done entirely on Steam, so virtually free).

You know, I bought the BTA because I really wanted Hexels. What was I supposed to do with the ClickTeam stuff I already have from the previous gamedev bundle?

Should I really get onto blacklists because I decided to give them away rather then delete them or let them rot in my Humble library?

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

This is my problem. I am getting the bundle for the spriter pro stuff. Last time I gave away my extra copies from the dev bundle when I got the games for my daughters and ended up on a number of black lists. It looks like I should just throw the ClickTeam stuff in the trash rather than give it to someone who might use it.

I actually want a copy of it, plus Pyxel. I just can't afford anything right now except what Steam has on sale. Wallet Cards make the best presents.

Yeah I saw you "asking" for a copy up above.
I'd suggest hitting up Steamtrades and seeing if someone would trade a copy to you.

Yeah I scratched that out. I actually was not aware it was frowned upon here.
I mean, we're giving away games to begin with.

If it's ClickTeam Fusion that you want, I have a spare copy.
I wanted to give it here but I really don't wanna abuse the CV, was thinking of some way of giving it away without creating a GA. So, hit me up on Steam if you want the key. :)

Thank you but no. I just wanted a copy of Spriter Pro and Pyxel Edit. I used to have Pyxel Edit a long time ago (paid copy), but I can't find my email and the site doesn't have it on file either.

I actually hope for some proof here as well. To be honest, Voxatron is the only thing I want to get from this. $10 is steep, but it hasn't been bundled for months.

Well, and maybe Spriter Pro, since my top game of 2016 used that. :P

Bought BTA to try out Hexels, Pyxel, and Pico-8. Messed around with Pico-8 a bit already, and was a bit surprised at just how retro the interface actually is (reminds me of an old DOS-based gif animator I used back in the 90s). Will probably give Pyxel and/or Hexels a try sometime tomorrow.

Thanks for chart, really. Not like the other topic creator trolling us... he forgot that games he is buying need to be created...

For anyone interested in game dev, I highly recommend the $1 tier for Irresistible Apps: Motivational Design Patterns for Apps, Games, and Web-based Communities book from https://www.humblebundle.com/books/code-your-own-games-book-bundle 11 hours left :-)

Polished Game Development book seems quite interesting too, but I am not sure about throwing $15 for it alone.
Gamers at Work: Stories Behind the Games That People Play book from BTA for some game dev background culture I guess.
All other books are game engine related and look redundant with digital contents already available on web. They may only help with setting up a game dev workflow (my guess).

I'm quite glad we ghot this bundle. On one hand I always wanted to get Spriter Pro and on the other I've been doing some mental gymnastics to be able to join all the GAs I'm interested on, and right now I have a lot of points to burn.
