I don't see why remove premium DLC giveaways.
I don't think removing it is the right way to save support massive headhache. You might as well close whole SG in that case.

bit over-dramatic over a simple single premium dlc not being on the giveaway list, but mmmk. when tropico was free the entire collectors edition was temporarily removed.. is that not the exact same thing?

I will just restart... no, that is not the same case, this is not temporary here. Unused free keys won't be revoked after a while from what I know.
But eventually a temporary ban could help people think twice, though. (I don't support the "drop your paid keys in orphan thread because some other people give away their free keys as yours")
And there are games that are banned but not their package including their sound track for example.

it could be, i didn't state i think it should permanently be removed. just temporarily while the bulk of the keys dissipate. this site is about gifting, not receiving CV, dropping a key in a thread is still a form of gifting. pretty sure people that spent $ on the humble monthly will survive just fine if they can't make a GA for the premium content.

Np. What you do is create a ticket then select delete giveaway and put accident as the reason and it will remove it.. hopefully your GA hasn't ended yet.

Do keep in mind this is true for every game that is given away free to any noticeable amount- it's always against SG rules to post giveaways for such games, even if they haven't yet been removed from the giveaway list. So if you get a key for free you shouldn't make a giveaway for it, under any giveaway name. :X

Sorry for this random question, didn't want to open a new thread or bump an old thread... I remember getting Civilization V for free (voting in Golden Joystick probably) but still there are so many giveaways for it? Why is that game still on the giveaway list after 3 years (they were simply added to the list of bundled games)?

There's some weird rules with things like that, some that require certain actions or are limited or something aren't always added to the free list, though. At least, that's what it seems like, I'm not sure...

That's just due to how far back the promotion was. At one point free games were added to the bundle list rather than removed entirely [See: this thread and this comment], which means the game would have continued to generate giveaways during that time. As such, retroactively adding it to the free game list wouldn't have had much point.
In short, it's just due to a change in site policies over the years. :)

Ah I was wondering about that, I got in the beta and stuff and am not sure if I want to use my monthly key, but wasn't sure if it was the Premium or not.

If you saw some posts by me hours before I made this thread, I swore the key you got sent in the email last month had the premium with it. For a month I've been under the impression it was like that. But yeah only the Humble Monthly key.

No, that's untrue. If you already activated a free copy, and then you go to activate a copy that includes the premium DLC, it will activate just fine. If you already activated a free copy and then win a giveaway that claims to include premium DLC, but when you try to activate it says you already own it, then that key does not contain the premium DLC.

A further note. BetaDwarf Entertainment sent out an email on Dec 2 with a key in it. Note that this is not a new key. This is your same key that you already have as part of the beta. They are just reminding you of it, letting you know that they are out of beta and that your key remains valid for the base game going forward. They include a link to buy the upgrade at a discount.
The email is clear, but I'm sure there are people who did not read it and just think they have an extra key.
I fully admit I thought for a second they sent an extra key. Then I reread it and looked up my past email to confirm it was the same key.

Yup same here I thought it was a new key. Figured they were being nice and gave 2. As someone who is friends with a good amount of both AAA developers and indie devs the way BetaDwarf handled all this is really different and kinda unorganized.

Yes, its the only key that does. One of the devs said they told Humble the Premium DLC was included..I really don't know what to think though.

it was a bit odd seeing Minion master in the humble monthly after getting the key free from Developers a few weeks prior to that.. I was just like.. meh, ok..
then I saw it was actually the premium DLC key we got in the bundle, not that I think i'll ever play the game, but getting something in the Humble monthly which was given for free is kind of like... bleh..

Some people are confused surrounding the Free Keys that you got in an email from the devs and also the giveaways that are going on around the net. Just an FYI but the ONLY keys that have the Premium DLC are the Humble Monthly keys.
I know there are a lot of GAs going on for the game. If you win the game in a GA and enter the key if it has the Premium DLC both of these things on the store page below will state that they are in your library. Also if you own the base game and add a key with the Premium DLC the key will work, if it doesn't then you just got a free key with no Premium DLC. If you won a GA on SG and it didn't include the Premium DLC then you need to mark the GA as not received and send a ticket to support.

Just a reminder that making GA for the free version(it's been removed from SG) and not the one with the Premium DLC can get you suspended and most likely the credit removed.
