True that! But most of those non-SI units they took from the British. Calling a rugby-like game "football" is their own rubbish idea.

To be fair, I think it's a nonsensical naming convention rooted in their Irish heritage. To refer to a game where players seldom use their feet as "football" is very much in the spirit of that Irish favourite, the [for the most part] vomit-free sport of hurling.
