I actually don't care about XP, but I really dislike that Steam added badges to my profile without me asking for them (and of course without me crafting anything). Having XP 10 instead of 17 would obviously be nicer, but it's a lesser "need" :-)

Someone once sent a ticket asking to remove some badge they crafted and the canned response was that they cannot. It was on the Steam general forums, so naturally the thread is impossible to find now. (Unless some new ones were made in this topic recently.)
Still, if you try, can you tell me the result? I would like to get rid of a few badges.

Even your game badge gives you level 13.5. So thats not happening.

It does not seem they added more badges, you just got more games.
