Dota / Dota 2 because of the challenge, great art style, no runes or masteries, no pay to win heroes, no bans for saying "gg" at the end of a match, no shitty mods, great business model.

I think laughing is better than DotA 2, but that's just my opinion.

That's not entirely correct, because owning every champion in the game doesn't make you a better player. Actually, if you try to learn every champion instead of select few , you're gonna end up sucking with all of them. You don't even need to buy them all until you're really high up there in rating. And bonus rune pages are useless if you don't have any runes to fill them up and you can't buy runes with real money, so in the end, a lot of those champions bought with your real money are useless, because you don't have the runes to use them to their full potential.
Saying money buys power in LoL is actually counting in your own laziness or lack of skill as a disadvantage, because you can easily outplay the guy with all champions using your single known and trusted one.

erm ... no ?
and from a "casual" point of view, I enjoy LoL a lot more.
OP should just give both games a try and decide for himself.

your argument makes perfect sense ... not.
Why did you even bother to "contribute" to this thread?

I enjoyed LoL, but their hero\runes buying model is awful. When i got to lvl 30 i haven't got my runepage maxed even for 1 character and i only had like 12 of characters at all.I realised how much time it will take to unlock all characters\runes that i need to be usefull for team, and dropped it.Tribes is another example of asslong grinding for stuff u need to be competitive. Now i'm playing Dota and having none of those nonsense.

Try them both out. I prefer LoL over Dota 2 as I think it looks allot better.

LoL if you want to have an easy and effortless time and everyone is dumbed down to an almost equal level because it requires no skill - This coming from an 1800 rating League player . Dota 2 If you want : Better graphics , Higher skill level roofs , More jokes , Amazing taunts , Quite assorted metagame . Killing an inhib in LoL is nothing , killing rax in Dota is like the rock that can cause a landslide .
TLDR; LOL IS EASY AND FUN . DOTA2 IS HARD AND FUN (with better graphics and neat functions)

I agree because I enjoy playing dota 2, but this is so bias.

You got it wrong. Dota 2 is a bigger waste of time because it takes longer to learn fully.

Not really, if you have LoL/Hon/Warcraft 3 Action RTS experience then it wouldn't take that long. You already have experiences with the genre. In 2 weeks just playing the game, you will get use to it, and know a huge chunk of the game.

Not really. Yes, you have the basic concepts of laning, but unless you have played dota you still need to learn hero's/champions'/whatever' skills and builds, also you need to learn what items do.
Comment has been collapsed.
Isn't that what you have to do while playing LoL?
Comment has been collapsed.
As I said, you get the basic mechanics of the game but you still have to learn the heroes' skillsets, item and skill builds. Those are very different from game to game.

I'll try DotA2 for sure, but i know already i'm going back to LoL after a short times since it's just the better game (yet) Dont get me wrong, i loved Dota and i still miss some heroes from that game, but there are a lot reasons why LoL is the better game =P

The one you like the most. For me it was lol, now neither. Oh and not having all champions unlocked when you first start actually gave me a goal.

I have fun by playing until I can afford a FUN champion. If you don't that's not my problem, I clearly said it gave ME a goal.

Oh god no. When you are just starting in LoL most players are new too so they have no clue how to play either. When you are just starting in dota 2 you get called a faggot noob retard for not knowing how to play. As someone who played both games I can say dota's community is way worse.

It is beta mate. In beta majority of people know how to play dota. So What you expect? What happens if you were new set with all level 30s?

I know this is a source of a large chunk of debate, but I've got friends playing both and I'm not sure which one I should jump into. I do "alright" at both but have obvious room for improvement.
Can anyone try to give an unbiased comparison to the two, or link to a source that can? :D
