Made a mistake giving steam my tax information on steam market.

to be able to post more than 200items/year on steam market you will have to give your info for tax reasons(if outside US you wont have to pay anything)

What kind of mistake? If it's an honest mistake or a typo, I can't imagine any serious negative consequences. At worst, you might have to contact support to clear it up or something.

On the other hand, if you misrepresented something in an attempt to profit (claimed to be outside of the US when you're inside in order to avoid taxes or something like that), they might look at that more seriously.

I think if you contact customer support right away they wouldn't ban you. But if you don't contact them and they find the error on their own your chances of getting banned are probably higher.

rectify it by contacting support, it will take a week (like with every other support ticket) but at least then you know you will be safe since you reported it before they pulled you up on it (therefore they can not prosecute you for it)
