i think a lot of people see wins as an entitlement - like theyre getting a prize from a machine.. i guess they just forget the spirit of the website and what its supposed to mean. expect it to only get worse, as more people join now that there are no invites required.

It happens all the time. The community is comprised largely of dickheads and freeloaders in my experience. Finding a group of friendly and grateful people is a wonderful thing. Try to get into some groups and organize giveaways there.

I think over 50% of people don't say thank you. But the percentage of people saying thanks is much higher when you do a private/group giveaway. You can always do a group giveaway to the S. Gifts group, since anyone active in the community should be in it.

The first giveaway I had the person thanked me after he accepted the gift. The second gift he didn't thank me at all. Douches <_<

It can be worse. Some people actively curse you if you don't also give them something, even if they didn't win.

Greed can bring out the worse in some people.

You'll get a lot of types of people here (well the internet in general), some will be gratefull like you just saved their lives and will offer you help whenever you need, and the other BIG majority, wont give a fffffff about what you just did or how much money you just spent.

Well, I only did one giveaway, and the guy who won thanked me about 6 times!
So, it depends on the people.

The guy who won the first was really polite, he thanked. Plus, he gave me Magicka the game, because he had an extra copy he didn't need. The winner of the second hasn't replied yet, or left a feedback. -_-

Hey, how about a new rule? Anyone who wins something and doesn't say thanks in a way that looks sincere (screenshots should be required for every win) gets booted! Everyone wins, except impolite people.

Trust me, it is extremely annoying, in 3 of my giveaways, winners neither comment nor thanked. After they receive gift, they removed me.

ive won some games here for example and im always very thankful for them, however once the guy who gave me the game just... kinda gave it to me and didnt say a thing lol.
what im saying is that it can go both ways. when you are doing charity or voluntary work you must know that you are doing that without any rewards.

Most people that rude? Dunno. I hang with people who aren't dicks, but this is a gifting site. There are going to be assholes and such.

This is why I'm no longer gifting, a little courtesy goes a long way. If they can't be bothered to say thanks I can't be bothered to waste good money. It may seem a little harsh, but I'm practically throwing money in the trash especially when I check their games list months later to find no hours at all recorded on a game I spent good money on gifting them.

Sadly I'm a bit of a hypocrite, I won Sanctum a few weeks ago and haven't even got around to installing it yet. Lately my internet connection has been atrocious and I've been bogged down constantly with College work that I haven't really had any time to play and when I do it's usually a quick match of MW2.

They're usually rude, but once in a while someone says thank you and its worth it.

While i understand some people add you after a gift (on my first and only gift i won, the gifter added me on steam, yet he never spoke to me personally) and see how much time have you put into that game, they have to understand that not everyone just wants to have a full friends list all the time, personally i ended up deleting him from my friends list, mainly due to inactivity and lack of contact, dont get me wrong i'll be forever grateful and i really enjoyed those games (it was the max payne bundle), if i dont talk to that person, or dont play with him, then whats the point?
