They were releasing a new Assassin's Creed game every now and then. I'd be happy if they would take a break. :P By the way, the Assassin's Creed Syndicate game was nice.

Rogue is in the current humble bundle (chronicles china as well). It's about the same price (a bit more, but you get more games as well) as in the steam sale.

As a big AC fan, this is probably the best thing they ever could have done for the franchise. They really need to take some time off to make some decisions and some major changes to the gameplay to make it more fresh.
That, and a AAA series about Assassin's shouldn't have the crappiest stealth mechanics on the market, lol. Hope those get better

Anyway, I hope they realize they need to cut down on the length of the kill animations, stop having voice clips repeated over and over and over again, make combat more involved and most importantly bug test their games

This is sort of like announcing that the tides have given up. The Assassin's Creed series has performed with such exhausting regularity that its absence is in itself startling. But that is the strange reality we now live in: Ubisoft has confirmed earlier rumours that there will be no new Assassin's Creed this year.
"This year, we also are stepping back and re-examining the Assassin’s Creed franchise," Ubisoft says in a blog entry. "We’re taking this year to evolve the game mechanics and to make sure we’re delivering on the promise of Assassin’s Creed offering unique and memorable gameplay experiences that make history everyone’s playground."
Could this mean no more bell towers? No more relieving myriad careless citizens of their treasure chests? I'm almost afraid to imagine such an unnatural scenario.
