Only three years after the release I learned that there was finally a whole CD released of the official orchestral arrangement for Chrono Trigger soundtrack, which was something I've been hoping to see for years, until I kinda abandoned hope and stopped paying attention. Seemed like a dream come true for someone who considers this soundtrack the best ever and loves orchestral music, so of course I started listening as soon as I learned about it and found it, and after the initial excitement waned and multiple full listens I have to say that I stay dreaming... The main disappointment of course comes from the short tracklist and not seeing some great tunes from the game included, like, I just wanted the whole thing to finally get arranged for orchestra, you know. Given that, the idea to make it medley-like was actually not that bad though, and some tracks worked well together, like Magus' Castle / Confusing Melody / Battle With Magus for example. And then there's the thing with the technical side of the sound, where certain parts of brass section sound way too sharp most of the time, to the point of being distracting and making the music much less enjoyable. Not sure how they managed to mess this up like that. Oh, and the Frog's Theme didn't receive the epic and powerful sound it deserves, which I was really hoping for, although they came somewhat close I'd say. Still, this turned out better than most fan-made "synthetic" orchestra renditions that came before, so I can't say that I'm not happy. But the wait for the whole original soundtrack for "live" orchestra continues, I guess.

I'm not usually into deathcore, but when it's groovy, I dig it a lot.
I'm doing my chores to these guys now:
Fit For an Autopsy - Far From Heaven
Fit For an Autopsy - In Shadows
Bleed From Within - Levitate
Bleed From Within - The End Of All We Know

These turned up when I recently shuffled a playlist I made on YouTube. While these songs aren't in my top five, they are good in their own ways.
