Every sale, I try to start up this price glitch/errors/best ever price thread. This time won't be any different.

Feel free to list any notable errors or really amazing prices that you find, and I'll keep the thread updated. This list does NOT include negative prices, as those are always made non-purchasable in your cart. We want glitches, mistakes, or best ever prices--look for weird percentages and use Extended Steam to help you see the price history of a game! Thanks for helping!

Will there be any better discounts later during the sale or should I buy games just now?

The discounts will be the same during all the sales, they changed that some years ago, to prevent glitches and that thigs i guess.

This change pretty much destroyed the fun of a Steam sale for me.

Sale prices won't change, so you are safe buying them now.

Prices will be static throughout the sale. But, you may as well wait a day to make sure all discounts are fully applied.

the only price bug was 10 free cards which gave 6 cents profit. So 60 cents for free. That's it?

Bombshell is 90% off. The game is pretty bad, but for that price it might be worth a look.

Please tell me i'm not the only one that hasn't been able to purchase anything since the "Sale" began.

(also, i'm sorry if this is off-topic)

You're not the only one. I've been trying to buy a couple of games for the last twenty minutes or so but get this message: "There was a problem communicating with the Steam servers. Please try again later."

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Oh yeah. When i'm not getting the error message i displayed above, i'm getting yours.

It should've been obvious that i couldn't have been the only one, but i just wanted to make sure :D

Well...i shall continue to play "The Waiting Game" until it finally works.

That happened to me about 5 times, then I got this little gem:

"It looks like you've been attempting a lot of purchases in the last few hours. Please wait a while before trying again."

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Huh...just like the "Too many activation attempts" error...

It's actually really funny...i mean instead of creating, coding and embedding all these error messages, would it not be easier to just "improve" their overall server quality? :D

Adam Wolfe All Episodes (Episodes 1-4) = 2.99€
BUT, if you buy 1st episode + season pass (ep. 2-4):
0.95+1.91 = 2.86€

In chilean pesos (CLP) is the other way around: It's more expensive to buy base game + season pass (CLP $560 + $960 = $1520) than All Episodes (CLP $1425)... (:P)

Yes, looks like it is. I didn't played it, but Square Enix had a deal (or bundle) in the past that included this game. Let's see if other user that owns the game can say something about it.

Comment has been collapsed.

Developers set the prices, not steam :) Send your goodwill letter to the developer who obviously was planning to make this, as they had BoI discounted just until the sale, and it was pointless ; unless people wait for sale "because it will be cheaper" but it won't. :3

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Well they fuked up hard , why would i buy it now since its not equal or cheaper ? big fail imo.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Because people are always like "buy it during sale, it will be the cheapest, also cards"
Well no. Either you buy it now for more expensive than it was and just go with it, or wait for the next sale :) There is nothing fail in it, likely hundreds or thousands will buy it regardless of price during the sale :D mindgames, man. Mindgames.

They failed with me , i wont buy it this sale since i didn't buy it when it was cheaper .

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

1st - it's not Steam but dev/publisher who decides Sale prices.

2nd - it was pretty obvious that if game got historical lowest right b4 Sale it is unlikely to go even deeper on Sale - thus waiting with purchase for Sale was unnecessary risk ;p That's at least what I thought and why I bought Rebirth and Afterbirth these few days before ;p

I didn't expect lower i said to myself "don't have time now i will buy it on sale" since it might as well be still same discount . But it was not the same .

they did not fail in any way - you failed for being ultra salty over missing a deal and blaming everyone else but yourself for that.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Didn't get my money = they failed .

Hope all devs backpedal next sale and go for -10% or -15% less then previous sales (summer or winter) and you will see who will be ultra salty as u put it , and i don't mean you i mean in general all people from steam who frequent sales .

Comment has been collapsed.

don't play semantics game now, cause all your previous comments clearly suggest you meaning something entirely else than just "they failed because they didn't earn money from me". Comments like"fuck off" "fucked up hard", "big fail" - all indicate heavy emotional negative involvement not just statement of "well I simply won't buy", yet nowhere before now you indicated that it's just "I meant failed as they won't get monies from me". So for me it clearly indicates that you meant something different (heck, you even indicated steam is at fault in 1st comment b4 being corrected Valve are not the ones setting up discounts), just now out of nowhere saying "oh nah, I just meant 'fail' in the different way". Pretty pathethic, you cannot even stand up to your own words neither admit doing something wrong/stupid or simply screwing up, instead you chose to play 'idiot game' of "oh noes, that's now what I meant".

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Why would u assume what i meant about fail like u know 100% what i mean ?

For Your Information : 2nd reply to this whole serious and really important debate clearly says : "Well they fuked up hard , why would i buy it now since its not equal or cheaper ? big fail imo . "

Since u assume and know every emotional aspect about people over the internet and are irl some sort of psychologist wouldn't this mean i did in fact mean FAIL as is not buying not getting my money or FAIL as in not getting money from others that experienced the same since mb out of 7 billion people im not the only snowflake to feel this way ?

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

No I don't assume I know every emotional aspect about every person ever, just about onhes that provided enough information about their emotional statusd in previous posts like you did ;)

Comment has been collapsed.

Well good on you , hope that helps you for the rest of your life .
Bottom line and ending this what i meant and what i "stand up for" is in my 2nd reply and other replys following that are only empowering the 2nd one in different words .

Just don't buy from them then. The summer sale isn't the big deal like it was before with all the flash, daily and whatever deals. It's just a sale with a lot of games with some sort of discount now. The 'special' deals during the year (midweek and weekend) have equal or better prices. Just keep that in mind next time.

If there is discounts, it's final (apart from bundles, since those can change any time up or down).

If there's no discount, it maybe still be discounted as a daily. (Ubisoft does this for most of their games)

its always nice to earn a little something something for playing a game, those skins can be worth a good bit. quite a few games have drops that are worth a decent bit. i wouldnt play a game to make a few bucks for so much play but if it were a fun game to begin with it would probably hold my interest longer. hell i love league of legends but im interested in trying out dota because it has drops.
