Did anyone else get bundle key for this revoked?

https://steamcommunity.com/app/397760/discussions/0/3374780959391387863/

I got revoked, but no idea which bundle it was from.

Edit: Both IndieGala and Groupees keys were revoked.

Dev reply:

Hi guys, In regards to the revoked keys 20K keys were given to IndieGala for their sale and keys have been being sold since without any payment to me from them including on other websites.
I apologise for the inconvenience however this is on them, I will be contacting them to see what's going on in regards to the earnings as I have not seen a single penny.

Didn't the dev say he would just make the game free for a day if he couldn't get his key request accepted?
Figured that would be easier, even if it reduces his potential future sales from 0 to 0.

Yes he certainly did, but 1 day wouldn't be enough. At least he could make it free for a week or a couple of days just like the "Evolvation" Dev
Though it's not an ideal solution, cuz it favors peeps who didn't buy the game in the first place, and others who actually bought it and will miss the free promo are screwed.
The damage is already done and I see no redemption for this at all.
Let's be reasonable, the game itself isn't worth the hassle anyway

This sets a bad precedent even if the game is worthless.

I don't want to go back to a world where we rent games for a few weeks and have them removed from our account.

lol I remember the 80's xD

edit: and yes I totally agree about the precedent. That's why I reported the game on steam and try to be vocal about this because I don't want it to happen again to anyone else. =)

Step 1: Make satirical joke about developer's ability to lie and not be able to repay the customers.
Step 2: Get community ban with a reason "Ye okay."
Step 3: Wait for Steam to ban the developer and the game.

Update: My community ban was lifted, but zero answer / reaction to the developer from Steam Support. Meh.

Better cover the sensitive information like your login name and the amount of funds in your steam wallet.

Is it against Steamgifts rules? I mean that's not my login info, and amount of funds is quite irrelevant. It was just easier to upload printscreen without editing it.

It's not against SG rules, I was suggesting that only for safety reasons (scammers, phishing attempts). But if that doesn't concern you, just ignore me. :)
Now I noticed Steam displays the nickname there, it used to be the login username.

so they just "revoke" the keys from the end customers because according to them retailers failed somewhere. that shit should be straight illegal and not doable

I just received an email by IndieGala with a replacement key. If you got it there and haven't contacted them, you should catch upon it.

It's almost if everything went exactly according to EU's consumer protection laws. You contact the retailer where you purchased something and it's their duty to fix the problem in a reasonable time.

Not sure to be honest. Probably ask support what happens in this kind of situation.

EDIT... Mine was from the groupees bundle so I'll give the replacement key if they provide me one.

I've received my replacement key from IndieGala's support (on e-mail), I recommend everybody to do the same and send them a message from the e-mail that the bundle was bought from or gifted to. If you've received key only and not the properly gifted bundle/game, you won't get a replacement.

In my case I've got it in a group buy (as I do with every IG bundle), they didn't make any problems as the gift was sent on my e-mail.

Confirming the same - IndieGala provided me with a replacement key as well, which I just added to my account.

Once again a crap game in a crap bundle gets revoked, glad I don't buy them, this seems shady as hell I think there needs to be some sort of limit on how long you have to report and revoke keys. There is no way I would wait a year before asking to get what I'm owed and revoking keys to people who actually paid for them, and it seems like they made no attempt to even resolve it before they revoked. They should not get any money if they were able to remove said product from the people who actually paid for it, instead of going after IndieGala itself.

All I know is something smells fishy, and it's not last nights special. This is akin to buying something from Wal-mart, them not paying their supplier, then tracking down as many people as they can who bought said items, and have it repoed. The consumer is not to blame or at fault, you just bit the hand that feeds you, and I would never buy a product from them again, so they will never get paid a sale from me ever again.

They clearly needed to collect from those who did not pay them, not take away from those who did actually pay for said item. Granted they had the right to do so, but IMO a very poor decision and even worse statement on blaming Indiegala while taking away a product someone paid for in good faith.

Much to my surprise, found a notification on my Groupees account today...

Replacement steam keys for Urban War Defense have been added.

Good on somebody to get it corrected the most correct way possible in the wake of sheer stupidity.
My key had been revoked from Groupees's Build a Greenlight Bundle 7.
Now, I can continue to ignore the game in my library, but with more ignoring than before.
