I bought Torchlight before the 'Buy Torchlight get Torchlight 2' deal?

Pretty sure its buy Torchlight 2, get torchlight 1 free.

Yeah, I'm quite sure you should at the end, have Torchlight 2, as well as 2 tradable copies, (including the one you already own.)

And its over. It was only if you prepurchased torchlight 2.

It's the other way around, you get the first one by preordering the sequel.

Edit: Almost forgot to mention that since you own Torchlight, you'll get an extra copy of it in your inventory by preordering Torchlight 2.

As others have mentioned, it's the other way around. You can still as of now, buy 2 and get 1 free. I'm fairly certain this has been the deal since the moment it was made available for pre-order.
