Do you enjoy scary entertainment?
I ought to finally play it, but never find the mood - although I literally know I'd love it. Translating a game, no matter how awesome it is, really ruins the wish to actually play it. Shouldn't have participated in that project :(

I can see that. You kinda already know a lot of the dialogue already and things like that. I can see that putting a damper on wanting to actually play it.

I think it's one of the best sci-fi stories I've ever experienced, and I grew up reading the classics like Bradbury, Simak and Strugatsky brothers.

RE2 remake currently. I might move straight on to RE3 or play Evil Within.

Does Flathead count? Haven't played it yet but it looked like a horror game, so gonna have to finally play that this month.

I wake up everyday day.
I check the news.
And the horrors begin.
The game of life.

Just won Tormented Souls two days ago and was really looking forward playing it.
Unfortunately, despite the old school fixed cameras that I like and the nice level design, the presentation of the story and the gameplay just feel bad and the save points are spread so far away that it takes all the fun away for me :(

I started by playing Carrion, a nice indie metroidvania. Also planned to try Edengate, but not sure if they do count as classic horror games!

I honestly can’t play horror games because I just get too scared or anxious, even though I’m already 25. Probably because the movie (and later the game) of The Mummy scared me as a kid, lol. The only ‘horror’ I’ll touch this Halloween is some 2D dark atmospheric stuff like Oknytt. I’d play or watch horror games with someone else, but everyone I know is busy - and I don’t know that many people to begin with.

Oh no, sorry to hear that. I also couldn't play or watch anything horror for a long time because I was introduce to it a little too early xD
For me watching some youtubers play horrors helped me get over it and now I play them on my own :D
Maybe start with more action based games?

Actually, 'm okay if I watch some videos and horror is my favorite movie genre (which I watch alone most of the time), but video games just immerse me so much, plus the childhood thing 😂😂 idk, maybe one day I will get over it

I usually love horror games, but really struggle playing titles like Amnesia where you need to hide and can't defend yourself... I just get so, so stressed out, I oftentimes can't complete the game.
That said, I've been playing Chernobylite and I think I will uninstall it. I love the eerie vibe, but I'm getting annoyed with the bugs/glitches and frankly, I felt very much bored during my last gaming session. I was never truly into the story anyway, not sure why... it just felt rather meh to me.
After a quick look at my backlog, I'm gonna try RATSHAKER.
From your list, I'd pick SOMA if I were you. I've enjoyed that one tremendously, it might be one of the best games I've played

My line up for the coming time (in alphabetic order);
-Alien: Rogue Incursion VR
-Blair Witch VR
-Don't Knock Twice (VR)
-Layers of Fear VR
And maybe some zombie shooters line Saints and Sinners or Propagation.
Cause yeah, after playing a lot on flatscreen, why not make it worse.

I have Outlast 2 and Resident Evil 4 in my PoP picks and I just finished Outlast 1!
Might play / revisit some of the following I've marked:
Amnesia (any of the first two)
Condemned: Criminal Origins
The Crooked Man
Cry of Fear
Lost in Vivo
Spirit Hunter: Death Mark
Also need desperately to get back to, as well as 100% Rodland of Pipes, such a fun one!
In terms of media, I'll definitely re-watch my all time favorite, Hereditary, and maybe The Thing or some other horror movie I haven't watched.
Let me know what you think! Any other recommendations based on these is appreciated, as well:)
I heard SOMA was great, but I'd have to do Amnesia before it, just for publishing chronology's sake ;D

I saved the Silent Hill 2 remake for this month. Looking forward to play it after finishing Vampyr.
