The most overrated game that you knew?

Red Dead Redemption -- I've seen people call it the best game of all time. Meanwhile, you spend about 50% of the game on horseback riding from one house across a barren desert to another house. But wait! There's things to do in that barren desert! Like rangling a horse, because you know, you want that different color one than the one you have now, or hunting! Because, I don't even know why, I guess you just do it because you're allowed to, and that's why it's fun!

if a game is famous it should be and it has to be called over rated (there are exceptions though)...

1.The Last of Us >>> when people calling it overrated or boring the only thing comes to mind is WTF???

i have friends who didnt understand story at all and they just finished the game and all of them where calling it awesome..!!!!

i was talking to them about the story and i found out that they didnt know anything about the story at all...(to make things clear our main language is not english and nearly all of my friends suck at english ...... )

so what they enjoyed was only gameplay and maybe music.....(all of them are out of gaming news like hypes or anything els... if you ask them :hey microsoft e3 event was awesome...they will ask you what is e3?..... most of em have a jailbroken ps3 or x360 a few of them download games and all of em just play it)

But i played The Last of Us because of the story and that was great....(i highly recommend you to play on survivor diff ...thats what this game should be)

i played the walking dead s1 and i found out that choices are a lot more effective in cod BO2 than TWD S1 .........

so over rated ones imo are cod ghosts and bioshock series..(i just played 1 and infinite)

why: in both of them all of interesting things will reveal at the end(more in infinite) you just kill alot of enemies to reach the ending where the evrything is...so just for an ending that was too much....(havnt played infinite DLC but i heard that their good)

lets make this post longer the other over rated one is lol (im not a pro moba player ) my brother is a dota player since the old one after sometime he started playing dota 2 but somthing happend to our internet(the problem is still resisted) that he couldnt play dota 2 anymore so he started lol first he was calling it awesome but after a while he was calling it stupid shit !!! so he has reached to my opinion i talked to some of my friends(not the stupid ones) and their opinion was the same.....

you know except gameplay and anything else what is really hurting me is that F2p thing about lol which lol is not...Yes yes you can do anything via ingame credit but finally youll endup with paying but at least in dota 2 you have anything for free at the start....

another overrated one is cs series completely bullshit....(i play cs:go alot just because of my friends and laugh)....

another one is GTA V(wanna talk about the recent one ) wasnt really exciting i wanted to get it on pc for multi player but i heard that oc version gonna be full of cheaters so im gonna ignore it too..........

I know what you guys are looking for. You're looking for someone to name a game that one would never think could ever be called "overrated". I have such a game in mind. Know that I am not trying to troll by naming this game, this is how I genuinely feel. The game in question is Diablo 2. The game is often held up as one of "the best RPGs ever created". I say anyone who actually thinks that has obviously never paid attention to what makes an RPG good. You know what makes an RPG bad? Having a stat system that is counter-intuitive. When it is more important for the survival of your mage class to pump strength and put NOTHING into intelligence because it does nothing for the class outside of adding an insignificant amount of mana to the pool. When all of your classes are pumping the physical stats not because it adds damage but because of all of the stat checks to make sure your character can use better equips you have a deeply flawed stat mechanic. Especially when you consider the stat checks are the one and only real use for the mechanic and the real survivability (in terms of life and damage) in all the classes comes from the items you wear. I wouldn't have such a problem with the stat mechanic if the stats actually did something. But they don't, the insignificant boosts to damage/mana don't add up to a big bonus later on down the line. It remains insignificant.

The skill trees are garbage from the ground up. They liked to boast that each class had 30 or more unique skills. Which sounds like a lot, until you realize that 80% of the skills are just badly designed. Many of the skills are nothing more than filler skills, they are there to make it look like the class has a lot of options. The skills basically fall into one of two categories. The first are the skills that are poorly balanced making them severely underpowered and are never used. The second are the skills that are so poorly balanced they are practically overpowered which is why the builds around these skills are the only builds that are actually viable in the final difficulty.

It's funny because ever since the release of Diablo 3 people have been complaining about the lack customization and how D2 had SO much customization. To which I would question of they ever played the game and then I would remember nostalgia glasses. When Path of Exile came out, many felt that game is what Diablo 3 should of been. I say they're wrong, so completely wrong. Path of Exile is what Diablo 2 should have been.

For it's time Diablo 2 was a very good game and to this day can still be fun. However, even back then, the RPG mechanics were archaic and/or poorly designed. The fact that people still have yet to realize this and continue to hold the game up as a shining example of how to do a game right, to me screams completely and utter overrated in every sense of the word.

Cryses 2 it's a god game but it has a rate of 95/100
